Blue and white met its match at this quintessential Nantucket wedding

Jeffrey and Katelyn still have the original text from high school that set them up on their very first date. After a few years of long-distance marked by visits while they attended different schools, they both studied abroad in Australia and had the chance to travel and explore together. After college, they reunited in New York City, and in their words, “never looked back.” Jeffrey proposed on a walk along the water near their apartment on a rare, mild December day. Choosing Nantucket as their wedding destination felt like an easy decision for Jeffrey and Katelyn, who envisioned a weekend with timeless island ease. “What mattered most to us was sharing the place with our friends and family in a way that felt authentic,” they explained. With the help of Handy & Dallaire Events, they leaned into the island’s natural offerings — food, flowers, and venue — hosting at the Sankaty Beach Club for a celebration captured by Rebecca Love Photography that was quintessentially “Nantucket.”

Unique detail: cohesive pattern

A tablecloth pattern discovered by Katelyn’s mother became a subtle thread of cohesion, appearing across the invitations by Wouldn’t It Be Lovely, escort cards, and even as a bar wrap.

The weekend struck a balance of welcoming yet understated, with events that included a bridal luncheon, a golf outing for Jeffrey and his friends, and a group trip to a local brewery. “The best part of the wedding weekend was the energy,” the couple reflected, noting how their guests arrived ready to dance, celebrate, and embrace the joy of the moment.
