Mint And White Florida Traditional Wedding

sunset wedding photography

This bride and groom planned their wedding from afar, from two different cities! For that reason, they chose a location near and dear to both of their hearts and memories, Destin, Florida.
With the reception directly overlooking the ocean, the bride wanted it's beauty to speak for itself. So everything inside was inspired by neutral whites and greens to create a classic and modern, yet southern and traditional feel for their mint and white traditional wedding. Make sure to take a peak at their beautiful wedding video, filmed by Sixpence Productions, and the full gallery here, photographed by Paul Johnson Photography.

Get Ready In Good Company

The first thing I did was pick out my bridesmaid dresses. I wanted to pick color above all else - it couldn't be too blue and it couldn't be too green. I wanted it to be the perfect compliment to the light and fresh Florida wedding we were going for. Luckily, Bella Bridesmaids has every shade under the sun, and the perfect color just happened to come in the perfect cut for all of my girls. They truly looked divine. My most vivid memories of the actual day are of getting ready. It seemed everything from the moment I put my dress on was on fast forward and goes by in an instant. It was such a special time getting our hair and makeup done and being surround by my mom, all my best friends, and my aunts.

Sixpence Productions Wedding Film

From Sixpence Productions: When we produce wedding films, that's the type of impact we want our couples to be transported back to a happy time in their lives, warmed by the feelings of love that they have for their family and friends who surrounded them on their wedding day. Apart from photography, a wedding film is the only thing that couples will have after their wedding day to transport them (and future generations) back in time to that moment! It really is about creating a legacy.

Bridesmaids First Look

Ben and I decided not to see each other until the walk down the aisle, but I did do a "first look" with my bridesmaids. It's not only some of my favorite pictures, but also one of my favorite moments in the video. Seeing the love your best friends have for you and knowing how excited they are for you on your day is priceless. My favorite part of the whole day was walking down the aisle to my new husband. Knowing that you both are choosing each other forever is hands down the most rewarding part of the entire process.

The Perfect Venues

I always thought I had to choose between a traditional church wedding OR a beach wedding. But my aunt knew of the perfect little church in Seaside: Seaside Chapel. The simplicity and whiteness of it all perfectly went with my vision of white with touches of blues and greens. With our guest list of a touch over 200 people, our reception venues were limited in the small town of Seaside. I didn’t want to risk our reception being outside, even if over a tent, since September is technically hurricane season. My aunt suggested Vue on 30a, and she was spot on. The huge outdoor deck provided the magnificent ocean views that we wanted to give our guests coming from landlocked cities from all over the Southeast.
