Their Love Story
Brandii had nearly given up on dating in Los Angeles when, in the summer of 2019, she decided to give love one more chance and opened Hinge with a sense of adventure. Her search unexpectedly stretched across the globe, from Nigeria to Ghana, London to Spain, before fate quietly led her to Rome, Italy. There, she matched with Mark, who was studying abroad at the time, though at first Brandii thought she was speaking to someone named “Cage” living across the world. What began as late-night conversations quickly revealed a deeper connection, and soon another twist of fate emerged: Mark was already scheduled to spend the summer in Los Angeles for an internship. When he arrived, the two finally met in person and quickly became inseparable, spending a summer together that turned into a love that continued to grow over the next three years. Then, in July of 2022, surrounded by friends and with the blessing of Brandii’s parents, Mark got down on one knee and asked Brandii to marry him.
The Vision: European Elegance
The couple chose the stunning Vizcaya Museum for its European elegance, a beautiful nod to the serendipitous beginning of their love story that first connected them through Rome. Brandii envisioned an atmosphere of timeless charm by the water, with towering trees accented by florals and endless candlelight creating a romantic glow. With the help of Bellisimo Events Miami, her vision came to life through cascading white florals by Ponce Floral that flowed gracefully throughout the celebration, adding softness and refinement to the entire setting.
The Fashion
For her wedding day, Brandii spent countless hours working closely with her gown designer, Estee Couture, to create a look that could seamlessly transition from a grand ballgown into an elegant evening gown. To elevate the atmosphere even further, guests were asked to arrive dressed entirely in black, creating a striking and sophisticated black tie aesthetic that perfectly complemented the European garden setting of Vizcaya.
The Cake
As a nod to their European inspiration, the couple cut into a traditional Italian wedding cake, complete with berries, flower petals, and a dusting of powdered sugar. This is the perfect example of how to be intentional with all of your decisions. They could have easily had a traditional tiered wedding cake, but instead, they chose something that would immerse their guests in the world of the day.
