Romantic blush wedding with a sense of humor in the Arizona desert

elegant desert wedding style

Arizona will always be this couple's forever home, so when it came time to plan their wedding, they knew they had to find a venue that could capture all the natural beauty this place has to offer. The bride and groom are absolutely in love with the cacti, the majestic mountains, and the breathtaking sunsets that grace the Arizona skies, and because of this, it was a no-brainer that The Country Club at DC Ranch would be the perfect location with its rustic, Spanish, Tuscan charm blending seamlessly with Arizona's captivating landscape. Keep scrolling to see how this gorgeous, blush-toned event came together with the help of Andrea Leslie Weddings & Events and all captured by Rachel Solomon Photography!

A spring desert-inspired color scheme

The bride and groom wanted their wedding to be the perfect blend of elegance and whimsy, hence the color scheme of neutrals, blues, sage green, and desert rose as a nod to the early spring vibes of Arizona. The amazing wedding planner, Andrea Leslie, worked with the couple from day one all the way through the final moments of their special day, guiding them through every detail and making sure that even in the midst of wedding planning stress they felt at ease with her kind and caring support.

Desert-inspired florals with a touch of elegance

Working closely with Cynthia Linzy and her amazing team at Lux Florist, the bride and groom explored numerous ideas and examples to bring their vision to life. Lux Florist created the most exquisite wedding arch, gracefully framing the Arizona landscape and adorned with perfectly placed flowers. Rows of cacti and flowers welcomed guests to the ceremony, while the bride's wedding bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets added a touch of elegance with white roses, milk thistle, sage greenery, and succulents. As a nod to their beloved Arizona home, they chose unique succulent cactus boutonnieres for the groomsmen.

A bagpiper to honor tradition and keep the schedule

Because the wedding was over St. Patrick's Day weekend and the bride's family has a strong Irish heritage, they included a bagpiper - Ford Dudley played as the ceremony recessed into cocktail hour hosted on the open lawn. Dudley then played again to lead the guests from cocktail hour to the reception area.

Linens: An important backdrop

BBJ La Tavola and Taylor Womack helped the couple find the perfect linens to complement the candlelit reception. Classic white linens with a shimmering touch added just the right amount of sparkle, while the cake table and card table were adorned with delicate details.

Hiring a live wedding painter

The bride's family surprised the couple with a live wedding painter, Dave Wilhelmsen of Live Event Artist, who captured the couple's first dance. Once the first dance ended, the reception really took off thanks to the lively music played by Lucky Devils Band!

Signs with a sense of humor

For a fun and personal touch, they had custom drink signs for 'His' and 'Her' drinks with the words "Let's pawty" featuring the couple's two beloved dogs. They also made sure to include a sign that said "Drinks are on Phil," in honor of the bride's dad, who had a good laugh when he saw it!
