Old world charm in ivory and emerald at this New Jersey mansion

old world wedding inspiration

After proposing on a Tuesday evening in the kitchen of their old apartment in Morristown, New Jersey, this bride and groom hosted their special wedding day at The Mansion at Natirar. The bride had grown up about two miles down the road, and it was the last venue that they actually looked at. As soon as they viewed the venue, however, they knew this was the place they wanted to get married! Keep scrolling to see all of the incredible, intimate photography of their wedding day captured by Peach Photography NJ, and planned with the help of Details Made Simple.

Ivory and emerald: A timeless pair

For their wedding, this bride and groom chose ivory and emerald to create that timeless, elegant feel with a pop of color. These colorful details were found in decor accents throughout the event, as well as in the ivory bridesmaid dresses from Bec + Bridge. The girls wore their "strapless viscose ivory" dresses with sheer gloves, while the maid of honor had the added accent of a ruffle top. Emerald accents were included in the invitation envelopes by Little Black Dress Paperie, ring boxes, and escort cards at the tables.

You have to get to know Rose Clara Couture

The bride's wedding dress was by Rosa Clara Couture, which she found while dress shopping with her mom and sister in Miami. Rosa Clara Couture is an incredible Spanish designer, so the dress was made in Spain and shipped to the United States eight months after she first tried it on. Because the bride's bachelorette party was in Mallorca, Spain, she was even able to try on her Rosa Clara veil while she was overseas! To complement her gown, the bridesmaids wore their ivory satin strapless dresses from Bec + Bridge. Each dress was midi length with a cut-out draped back. The sleeves were an addition from an Etsy shop, while the MOH's top was "Florence" from Selezza London.

Creating an "Old World" aesthetic

The idea of the mansion's "old-world" aesthetic was part of the overall vision, which The Mansion at Natirar fit perfectly, as did the ivory and emerald details. Keeping the floral bouquets simple with white Calla Lillies was the perfect touch of old-world romance, and the gold mirror used for the guest's seating chart gave an element of fairytale whimsy. This aesthetic wouldn't have been complete, also, without the men in their classic, elegant black tuxes from The Black Tux.

White florals, greenery, and floating votives

Jardiniere Fine Flowers did an amazing job with decor! The goal was to use white and green flowers to accent the ivory and emerald details. For the ceremony, the florist created a baby breath arbor. The Calla Lilly bouquets and boutonnieres were exactly the simple and refined style the bride wanted. Throughout the reception room, they used beautiful branches in tall-stemmed vases that also included hanging votive candles. This was accented with pillar vases on the tables containing white floating candles. The head table was decorated with a green fern runner, white hydrangeas, and pillar candles again on the table and floor. The white hydrangeas and greenery matched the accents on the ceremony chairs.

Custom catering from the bar to the cake!

The customized menu began during cocktail hour with the groom's signature cocktail - a Paper Plane - and the bride's signature cocktail - a Watermelon martini. When it came time for dessert, the Natirar pastry chef created a three-tiered lemon cake with coconut cream and topped with white hydrangeas.

A multi-genre music selection

Throughout the day, the bride and groom included so many different genres of music that poke to them. From "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" by Elton John, "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" by Elvis, and "At Last" by Etta James, they definitely brought the romance with their choices. The couple's first dance - to "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain - was a huge hit! They took dance classes for months leading up to this moment, and they definitely paid off on the day-of.

From the bride: The most meaningful moment

"My maternal grandfather was my ring bearer. He is almost 94 years old and full of life! Grandparents being able to attend a wedding is such a special gift, so I wanted to make sure he was included and could walk down the aisle. The second he arrived at the venue, I immediately starting crying. He is pretty well known by both friends and family to be a Frank Sinatra fan, so much so that he has been nicknamed "Hank Sinatra". Because he wanted to do something special for me on my wedding day, the week of the wedding he drove himself to the library and had the lyrics to "My Way" printed. He used the print-out to sing the song for me on our wedding day and it was a huge success!"
