Romantic Kentucky Mountain Wedding at Natural Bridge

Share

Happy bride and groom on a wooden bridge

After bumping into one another over a dessert buffet, Andy & Ashley struck up a conversation and three years later became engaged atop Eastern Kentucky’s picturesque Natural Bridge. They determined that their wedding would contain a heaping dose of romance; a bushel-full of blush and cream details; an adorable parade of sweeties (ten little ones that rang bells and carried signs to announce their arrival) and all of their dearest family & friends set amidst the beautiful mountains of Kentucky, at (you guessed it!) Natural Bridge State Resort Park.

From the Bride (who was also the event designer!):Overall, our goal was to create a Naturally Romantic wedding, filled with thoughtful, unique details that complemented, not overpowered, the lush landscape of our venue. With the help of our loved ones, amazing vendors, and a little elbow grease, we achieved our wedding vision, all the while making priceless memories! Our wedding was an absolute dream come true!

The fireplace decor, although time-consuming, provided quite the focal point for our reception! My mother & I collected hundreds of candles & all of the glassware used in the fireplace in the months leading up to the wedding. Then, my wonderful bridesmaids and I filled the massive fireplace with a slew of elegant pieces and a sea of warm light that glimmered throughout our reception hall the entire evening!

Andy & I had decided early on that we would honor our dessert buffet meeting (and my love of baking!) by giving out our favorite freshly-baked cookies as wedding favors. Just 2 days before the wedding, my mother, sister & I made over 1,200 homemade cookies for our guests (200 each of my favorite Snickerdoodles and Wedding Cookies, and 200 each of Andy’s favorite Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Sorghum Cookies)! Our guests were delighted and surprised to find that, in addition to the cookies themselves, we had also included a collection of cookie recipes in each favor bag!
