Life Certainly Imitates Art at this Art Museum Wedding in San Fran

Share

classic bride and groom style

San Francisco has many lovely locations to say “I do” in, cathedrals, parks, event centers, even restaurants, but this Legion of Honor Museum wedding is both unique and romantically classic. Janice and Michael’s big day is one filled with plenty of love and joy as they and their guests were surrounded by works of art both modern and ancient. Absolutely beautiful!

You can see even more of this gorgeous wedding in the full gallery thanks to the photographic talents of Heather Elizabeth. But first be sure to enjoy the rest of this post as you keep scrolling, Janice has some great tidbits of advice for couples beginning to plan their own weddings.

here comes the bride and groom

From the Bride: We were introduced through mutual friends when we both moved to San Francisco for work in 2010. I moved from Boston and Mike moved from LA. We got to know each other through exploring the bay area together – riding bikes, driving along the coast, etc. For wedding planning, Legion of Honor was the first venue we saw and we immediately fell in love with it. We continued to look around at other venues but still came back to our first pick. We had a lot of guests from out of town, so kept the Church ceremony and Wedding reception both close in the city. While we didn’t have a fixed color scheme, we wanted everything to feel simple and elegant, yet festive enough for everyone to enjoy the fun celebration.

Day-of wedding coordinator: worth every penny! She helped us throughout the process, offered advice, and helped calm any nervousness with the amount of experience she had. Go with your gut. Legion of Honor was the first venue we saw and we immediately fell in love with it. We still checked out over 10 other venues to make sure we did our homework, but in the end we had to come back to the Legion of Honor. The venue was perfect and was a highlight of our wedding memories.

Going digital made things easier. We sent out formal wedding invites in the mail, but asked guests to RSVP digitally on our website instead of traditional mail responses. It made the planning process much easier and faster.
