It’s a Good Day for this Romantic Park Wedding Under an Old Oak Tree

Don't forget your pets on your wedding day

Rachel and Edgar had two favorite details about their wedding day. First, they were able to spend most of it together, and second they ate lots of cake! Which begs the question…why have just one wedding cake, when you can have THREE?!

We love how beautiful their park wedding under an old oak tree turned out. The garden floral + airplant arch from F.Dellit Designs looked stunning. And of course, all three of their wedding cakes looked delish from Whisk Bakery! Keep scrolling to see more of their beautiful day below, plus find a full gallery from Smith House Photography.

Spend more time together with a first look

From Smith House Photography: Rachel + Edgar said their two favorite things about their wedding day were spending time together and eating cake! They did a first look, which allowed them to spend the majority of their wedding day together (rather than just the reception).

Married beneath an oak tree

The ceremony was held at a local city park in Houston, Elizabeth Baldwin Park, underneath the sprawling branches of a beautiful old oak tree. Rachel had a vision for her ceremony space filled with greenery and florals, and the florist, F. Dellit Designs, built a ceremony arch, filled with gorgeous florals and air plants, to emphasize the natural beauty of the space. We loved the use of air plants in the arch, as well in each of the bouquets and as boutonnieres!

Why have one cake when you can have three?!

The reception was held at a nearby neighborhood bar, the Nouveau Antique Art Bar. The space is filled with vintage lamps and chandeliers, creating a warm and inviting space for the guests. A VW Photo booth pulled up outside as a photo booth and the arch from the ceremony was relocated to serve as an entryway into the reception. They also had three different flavors of cakes from Whisk Bakery, beautifully designed and absolutely delicious. (Best Baker in Houston? Absolutely!)
