Industrial Garden Chic DIY Wedding Like You’ve Never Seen Before

Industrial garden chic wedding

When planning a DIY wedding, that last thing you want is for it to look like a DIY wedding. If you don't believe it's possible to totally nail the decor like a professional, just wait till you see James and Melissa's dreamy day at the LeftBank Annex in Portland.

With the help of their families, their DIY creations came together flawlessly. Our favorite of the bunch being the stunning flower arbor that doubled as both the ceremony and sweetheart table backdrop, because it's like wowza pretty! See it for yourself below, and visit the full gallery for an even closer look captured by the talented Katlyn Marie PhotoArt

A diy wedding like no other

From Katlyn Marie PhotoArt: James and Melissa's wedding was an absolute dream. The venue was a big, open, industrial space with window light for days! Melissa and James wanted a more romantic and timeless feel for their big day so the couple and their family turned this industrial space into something elegant and romantic with modern elements, and it was breathtaking! It's no easy task to combine such different styles into something truly beautiful, but they did just that! Everywhere you looked, there were florals and garland, all made by Melissa and James' big Romanian families. They all had a hand in the gorgeous details of the day.

timeless & romantic design

From the bride: I wanted my wedding style to be very timeless and romantic. My goal was to have everything look clean and simple but with a few modern touches. I envisioned lots of lights and candles with long garlands on the tables and hints nude and pale pink flowers. James and I loved the LeftBank Annex for its rustic and industrial look. To me, I saw it as a blank canvas where I could make the space my own. My favorite part of the building was where we had our ceremony and later the reception. I loved the huge windows that surrounded the space.

DIY DETAILS

One of my favorite parts of our wedding was all the DIY projects. Our whole family pitched in and played a part in all the projects we had for the wedding. The biggest tasks we did ourselves were the wood planks that sat on the wine barrels. They were used for the dessert table and the overflowing cheese boards. We sourced all the wood ourselves and had to sand and prep it. I also wanted to have a lot of greenery with tones of nude and pale pink flowers.

The brides' favorite detail

Our flower arch was one of my favorite details from our wedding because it was such a statement piece without being too over the top, and it was made entirely by my family which made it even more special. We used it for our ceremony and for our sweetheart table which I felt was a good idea because I didn’t need to have another thing to plan for our table. The entire day was such a dream for James and I!
