I Do Venues: Kunde Family Estate with Alicia K Designs

About the Venue

If you are looking for the best view in Sonoma, then a scenic drive to Kunde Family Estate is in order. Boot Hill is one of our favorite ceremony and reception locations in all of Sonoma. The Kunde Family Estate can boast five generations of sustainable farming and viticulture, and this unique location is only one of several on Kunde’s 1850 acre estate. Boot Hill is remarkable; not only because of it’s panoramic views of the entire estate, but the site is perfect for a wedding celebration as the grove of Valley Oaks overlooking the bluffs is absolutely picture-perfect for you to say “I Do.”

Ask the Expert

Our very own Alicia Falango of Alicia K Designs has a special place in her heart for Kunde Family Estate. As one of the exclusive wedding planners for the estate, she has helped dozens of couples plan the perfect custom celebration among the vineyards, tasting rooms, and of course the ruins available on this gorgeous and unique historic property.
Alicia has assembled a “dream team” of wedding vendors including Jessamyn Harris and Kara’s Cupcakes to bring this wedding from inspiration to reality. Here are a few of her thoughts:

This couple wanted to keep things fun and light-hearted and their ability to work with design ideas that were completely outside the box made this a great celebration. Kunde is known for its mid afternoon gentle breezes and we wanted to make sure that we were able to take advantage of this. Also, we had a limited design budget so we focused on incorporating elements that created a movement vs. a more traditional floral motif. After looking at several options available, we decided to work with lots of ribbons.

The bride did not want to commit to a particular color palette, so this allowed us to keep things bright and fun – giving movement and bright pops of color to the overall design. We created a colorful “Felt Circle” ribbon which was loads of fun.. talk about color that POPS. We also kept the tables relaxed with mixed flowers and fruit. We wanted to really bring in other elements, hence where the fruit came in. Each table was a mini fruit and flower stand….”

I Do Venues wants to recognize the talented team of wedding professionals who helped to make this bride’s dream a reality: Photographer – Jessamyn Harris; Designer/Planner – Alicia K Designs; Cake – Kara’s Cupcakes; Catering and Rentals – Elaine Bell Catering, Entertainment – Fog City Entertainment, Jean-Paul Buongiorno Trio, Sonny Garcia.
