Have an Elegant Destination Wedding on a Greek Island

Greek destination wedding

You’ll be dreaming of a Greek island wedding after you see Vasiliki and Arnoud's destination wedding in Spetses. If you’ve never heard of Spetses, the island of perfumes, you’re not alone. But it was the picture perfect location for their dreamy “I do’s”.

The fresh decor came to life with deep blues, yellow, white, and a hint of gold with a traditional Greek feel. With so much to love, you’ll definitely want to check out the full gallery after captured by Jacobo Pachón. Enjoy!

Chic Greek Destination Wedding

From Jacobo Pachón Photography: Vasiliki and Arnoud's wedding in Spetses seamlessly blends sophistication and substance. For me, as a wedding photographer, but also for every couple who seeks after a chic Greek destination to be wed, the island of perfumes, or the Pityousa as the Venetians named this pine-tree laden enclave, inspiration is found at every turn - from the neoclassic aristocratic facades of its mansions, and Renaissance inspired private homes, to the iconic 1914 Grand Hotel Posidoneion, with its antique marble staircases and Mediterranean-chic suites, where the preparations of the bride and groom took place.

Here comes to the bride

car-free island

Connecting with Vasiliki and Arnoud was hardly a task. They are such a gracious, friendly and great looking couple, I could look at their pictures forever. The bride arrived at the church on a horse-drawn carriage as Spetses is a car-free island, which made for such a fairytale scene. After the ceremony at 18th-century monastery Agios Nikolaos, with its stunning marble bell tower, we had the best light to shoot the newlywed's portraits. All-white with rustic raffia details and a traditional Greek feel, the venue, Kaiki beach, is a paradise for destination weddings.

Inspired Elegance

As Vasiliki frequently travels to Spain, she was inspired by the Nasrid Palaces' tiled panels, the heritage Mayólica and Talavera ceramics, Sevilla's colonial patios and aesthetics, a concept Anjie Georgakopoulou, Only For You, perfectly incorporated into the overall decor for the couple's wedding reception. Fusing the intricate patterns with textiles, stationery vignettes, blue and Aurelian art de la table, as well as a show-stopping tiered wedding cake accented with rose gold, sugared lemons, camellias, and peonies, artful met dapper. If I had just one word to describe Vasiliki and Arnoud's wedding, that would be "Elegance".
