their love story

Andrew & I met in college upstate NY at RPI. We were both student athletes at a small school, so we had some crossover of friends and activities. Andrew followed his dream of playing in the NFL for a couple of years, so we were long-distance during that time. We eventually lived together in Jersey City and then made our next adventure out to Portland, Oregon. Andrew proposed on a sunrise hike at Mount Rainier National Park, which was a beautiful spot and moment for us as we embarked on our new outdoorsy era.

the design

Even though I obsessed over a few too many details, my favorite part of planning was designing the look and setup. I loved working closely with my florist, caterers, and rental companies, who went above and beyond to bring my vision to life. I also enjoyed involving my grandmother (Nanny) and mom in the process, getting their valued opinions along the way. Walking into the courtyard and seeing the floral deconstructed arch for our ceremony, along with the tablescapes, centerpieces, and furniture, was like seeing a dream come to life. It made all the planning worth it! The venue also added a special touch—The Foundry perfectly captured the industrial city vibe we wanted while still feeling lush and romantic.

getting ready

As cliché as it may sound, I truly felt like a real-life princess. Seeing my vision come to life after having my hair and makeup done, I was overwhelmed with joy and excitement. My beauty team, which included my Aunt Denee as my hairstylist, perfectly captured the natural yet elevated look I wanted. When I finally stepped into my gown and added the matching veil, I felt complete. My family was in awe of how stunning the dress was—they couldn’t stop talking about the intricate details and how beautifully it all came together. It was such a special moment to share with them.

finding the dress
The team at the Soho flagship was great and very accommodating. They are professional, yet personal, and want to help you find your perfect match for your special day. From the sales associates to the seamstress (Mercedez) – everyone was awesome. I’ve admired Galia Lahav’s designs for years, so visiting their boutique was a dream come true. The Fabiana gown had been on my radar for a while, and I felt it perfectly reflected my vision as a bride. I tried on some other gorgeous dresses first, but the moment I stepped into Fabiana, it just felt like me. The intricate detailing, from the delicate embroidery to the stunning fit, made it so unique and special. It was timeless, sophisticated, and everything I wanted to feel on my wedding day. My Galia Lahav dress added to the magic, blending elegance with an ethereal, whimsical feel that tied everything together.

This hand-embroidered masterpiece sets a new standard in bridal fashion with its stunning ball gown silhouette and sensational detailing. The sheer corset top with delicate spaghetti straps and flattering scoop neckline pairs perfectly with the full skirt made in embroidered tulle and decorated with intricate three-dimensional floral embellishments. Every detail, from its graceful movement and voluminous presence to its precise customization ensures a flawless fit.

words of wisdom from the bride

I wish I knew how little the small details matter in the grand scheme of things. As a perfectionist, I found myself focused on every tiny detail leading up to the day. But when the moment arrived, I realized how much more important it was to be present and enjoy the celebration. No one is going to notice if a candle is out of place or if something didn’t go exactly according to plan—they’re there for you and your partner. My advice would be to trust the team you’ve hired and let go of the pressure to make every single detail perfect. Focus on enjoying the night and being in the moment. Your energy sets the tone—if you’re having fun, so will everyone around you. Take a deep breath, soak it all in, and remind yourself that the most important thing is celebrating your love.
