From Wedding in Val d’orcia: Daniele and Micaela often come to Tuscany, a region they have been in love with for some time, hence the destination wedding in the Val d’Orcia. They asked me for a simple but elegant location, and Borgo del Castelvecchio immediately came to mind. This old hamlet is set between hills and surrounded by olive groves and cypress trees: a perfect location not only for the reception, but also to host family members and friends who were expected from faraway places including China and the United States for a few days.

Micaela is a very sophisticated woman who, above all, loves simplicity. The true concept of classical elegance and timelessness is the theme of this wedding, starting from the bridal gown in silk and lace, handcrafted by a historical dressmaker in Milan, with matching décolleté shoes with 1960s design which were also made to measure. Hair down, no jewellery, the only accessory that Micaela wanted was the stunning bouquet created by Fiori di Puscina with white peonies and hints of green.

stunning view for the wedding venue

From Micaela and Daniele: We chose the beauty of Val d’orcia to celebrate our most important day, since it is magically nested inside our hearts. The small village of Castelvecchio, with its 360 degree view to the countryside, is probably one of its best expressions. Everyone coming from far away were wanting to why they needed to travel so much for a wedding, but as soon as they were introduced into the magic of the view the moment they arrived at the venue they understood.

From Wedding in Val d’orcia: The flower stylists at Fiori di Puscina, three sisters who grow local plants and recuperate ancient varieties of seeds, decorated the church with olive branches and white flowers in traditional Tuscan terracotta vases. In according with the white & green color palette, for the dinner tables centerpieces with peonies and roses, olive branches and wild flowers with many white candles were chosen.

At the cake cutting – a millefeuille with Chantilly cream and wild berries made by expert pastry chefs – the groom showed off his Sabrage technique. This great Champagne lover used one of his own sabers to open the numerous bottles of Jeroboam for all the toasts. The guests then moved to the after party in the Italian garden across from the main villa to sip on Negroni and Mojitos and dance until the early hours of the morning.
