2011 presents a long list of trends including use of vintage décor and color palettes like purples, apple greens and turquoise. But for ET LØFTE EVENTS — a wedding planning company that specializes in unique celebrations — breaking away from the trends is the key to setting a wedding apart from all others.
And so, ET LØFTE EVENTS encourages Brides and Grooms to opt for more bold and brash color combinations regardless of season such as red with purple, rust orange with blue or any virtually any color with black. As well, ET LØFTE EVENTS proposes mixing recent trends with more traditional trends together to create a vivid, one-of-a-kind ambiance.
For the following ‘Fresh n’ Fabulous Style Shoot, ET LØFTE EVENTS chose the direction of “elegance meets a bit of funk” to create a fresh, funky yet beautiful ambiance by pairing vibrant lime green with black for boldness and using geometric shapes in the table décor to add a bit of structure.
Incorporating gorgeous cymbidium and dendrobium orchids, green hydrangea, dianthus, calla lillies and aspidistra alongside frosted candles by Petals and Twigs brought the elegance factor and a subtle yet surprising addition of Black Morrow goldfish swimming front and center created a lighthearted, somewhat playful feel.
As a signature unique touch, ET LØFTE EVENTS designed and created “Menu Cubes” which displayed the courses on each side and inside offered a tasty treat of truffles. These menu cubes provided the dual purpose of providing the menu as well as the favors and blended well with the geometric shaping of the chargers and centerpiece.
The cake designed by Cakes by Andy fell perfectly in line with the geometric shaping of the shoot and yet the silk-like floral adornments added elegance and kept the overall look of the cake from appearing too minimalist.
The two gowns showcased in the style shoot were provided by The Bride’s Project – an organization that sells donated wedding gowns to Brides across Canada at a fraction of the cost and donates their proceeds to cancer research. Each gown had it’s own unique element: one gown was redesigned from a completely out-of-date wedding dress while the other had a peek-a-boo effect with it’s sheer, beaded corset.
Each fascinator designed by Absolutely Fascinating accessorized the gowns perfectly in their own way. While one offered a hint of whimsy, the other provided a softer sophistication.
