Since Serena and Eric were drawn to each other by their mutual passion for adventure and love of the outdoors, it was fitting they should be married outdoors where they and their families could enjoy the amazing views surrounding them at The Joshua Tree House in Tucson. With only thirteen guests in attendance, the bride and groom wanted their wedding to be an intimate celebration – captured by R. Gonzalez Photography – that brought both of their families together. Fortuitously, Serena knew Nikki from Knoble Events, and she was confident that Nikki – with all of her connections in the area – would be able to pull off the wedding of her dreams.

Renting out the entire venue

Though finding a wedding venue was the most difficult part of the planning process, the Joshua Tree House had the perfect amount of space for their families. By renting the entire inn for four days, Serena and Eric were able to spend time with their loved ones amidst a desert oasis with hot springs, a cacti forest, a canyon pool, and access to nearby Saguaro National Park, which borders the inn’s property.

The benefits of a local photographer

Having a photographer who could capture both gorgeous portraits and landscapes was vital since the natural surroundings were a huge part of what made Serena and Eric’s wedding so special. Since R. Gonzalez Photography was local to Sedona and resided in the mountains, they knew she would be able to capture everything beautifully.

A romantic desert color scheme

With the wedding being a cherished gathering of those closest to the bride and groom, Serena and Eric could focus on the details which would make the day memorable for all. The chosen color scheme of dusty rose, cream, and sage green provided a classic but romantic contrast to the natural tones found throughout the Joshua Tree House and the Saguaro landscape.

Natural tablescape elements

The tablescapes were one of the most important elements, and with this being one of Nikki’s areas of expertise, she was able to pull in elements that flowed together perfectly and added a luxurious touch to the meal. Floral arrangements by Posh Petals were paired with natural woven chargers, pink tapered candles in glass holders, tealights in glass votives, a delicate white table runner, and dainty pink cloth napkins.

Creating ambiance with live music

Cafe a la Cart Tucson executed the elevated dinner the couple envisioned by providing food that was delicious and looked amazing, while also providing gluten-free options for the guests with dietary restrictions. Music by violinist Seline Eskandarian added to the romantic ambiance of both the ceremony and the reception.
