DIY weddings never looked so chic! Dani and Ethan's wedding was full of unique and personal decor that you won't believe they created themselves. Bride, Dani, was the vision of a modern bride with a light and airy V-neck Vow'd wedding dress. Her romantic loose bun and fresh makeup style by Tigerlily Salon were gorgeously framed by a chic pearl appliqué veil.

Stunning DIY bouquets made by the bride

Our jaws were on the floor for these stunning DIY florals crafted by the bride herself! Dani made her bridal bouquet the morning of the wedding, featuring stunning pastel blooms of blue delphiniums, dusty pink roses, and orange ranunculus. She and her bridesmaids handmade their flower baskets too, overflowing with baby's breath, petite white daisies, and delphiniums. We love how the white florals pop against sage green bridesmaids' dresses!

"I usually try to lead my clients away from the DIY route, explaining the benefits and stress relief of leaving the work of a wedding to the pros and using the lead up time to instead soak up the experience. Dani was an exception bride - she NAILED making her own bouquet. She did it right in front of me on the morning of her wedding with the help of her maid of honor! Her bridesmaid baskets were all DIY, and their adorable escort display was crafted with childhood photos of her and her groom, Ethan." - Photographer, Alexandra Wallace

Emotional outdoor ceremony where their love began

Although Dani and Ethan are originally from Washington and Colorado, these lovebirds met in college in SLO after an incredible day surfing Morro Bay with mutual friends. (The bride says they've just kept on hanging out ever since!) When selecting a venue for their heartwarming nuptials, they found that Higuera Ranch was perfect to bring all their friends and family to witness where their love story began. It was also a huge perk that the venue could accommodate guests, so the couple could spend more time with friends after the busy rush of a wedding day!

We love how many tears Ethan shed during their ceremony! The couple's best friend married them, which was such an emotional and beautiful moment of celebration.

We love a good outfit change for the reception, but how about a hat change! The bride slipped on this glam pearl bedazzled cowgirl hat to get the party started. With a brewski in hand, she radiated cool, California bride energy!

Personal photos make for a heartwarming DIY reception

Photos capture the most important moments of our lives, so why not incorporate personal photos on your big day? The bride and groom crafted several personalized DIY pieces of decor for their reception, including their welcome sign, flowers, and their photo-filled seating chart that guided the guests to table numbers featuring childhood photos of the couple.

The couple kept the photo love coming with a disposable camera station for their guests to snap away film throughout the night!

For their tablescapes, the couple wanted to keep the design timeless - opting to ignore trends that will fall out of style quickly ! Jade Precaido Events created a classic and simple design of neutral colors that mirrored the natural Californian landscape. The couple utilized rentals from All About Events, and chose elegant taper candles instead of centerpieces as a more cost effective alternative!
