When a director ties the knot, you know that every last detail is going to mean something. Hosted at the stunning Commodore Perry Estate and planned with the help of Callista & Co., Amy and Hilton’s day captured by Mashaida and 31 Films was a literal dream come to life with documentary images and plenty of personalized elements. From the perfectly curated sage, forest, tan, and peach color palette to the movie quotes on the napkins, the bride hid must-see “easter eggs” about their love story throughout the entire wedding design.

Textured vintage-inspired invitations

Their invitations from Swell Press incorporated vintage program elements and textured rattan design. These same invitations incorporated the first easter egg in honor of the bride’s favorite director, Nora Ephron. Behind the RSVP card was a quote from You’ve Got Mail: “How about some coffee or, you know, drinks or dinner or a movie… for as long as we both shall live?”

Nontraditional wedding party – none!

For their big day, Amy and Hilton ditched the traditional wedding party and made it just about the two of them. The bride wore an elegant mermaid gown of beaded lace, and the groom was equally dapper in a timeless black suit.

Floral inspo: peachy pink heaven

The ceremony took place on the lawn of the estate, looking up at the main house. Pink and peach florals by Stems Floral Design were mixed in with white to create lush, winding aisle arrangements that snaked to a showstopping arch focal point.

Movie quote-inspired cocktail napkins

As a second and third easter egg, one of the cocktail napkins featured a quote from When Harry Met Sally: “When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.” Bride Amy’s signature cocktail, “Sleepless in Round Rock,” was a nod to the Nora Ephron movie, Sleepless in Seattle.

A first dance nod to film

As the final easter egg, the song Amy and Hilton chose for their first dance, “It Had to Be You,” was the theme song from the film When Harry Met Sally. The couple chose the Barbara Streisand/Michael Bublé version for their first dance, while the film featured the Harry Connick Jr. recording.
