Bright And Colorful Wedding At Snug Harbor

succulent wedding bouquet by Sweet & Flower

As you soon will see, Tiffeny and Jack are a fun couple full of whimsy. The New Jersey wedding venue Celebrate At Snug Harbor was the perfect location to bring to life their  bright and colorful wedding. Snug Harbor is a fully restored turn-of-the-century building with 83 acres of lush gardens and greenery including an authentic Chinese Scholar’s Garden and authentic Tuscan Garden. The entire event was overflowing with terribly stylish details including  florals from Sweet & Flower.
You really must read on to hear more about the florals - especially the part where Sweet & Flower shares exactly what was used in Tiffeny's bouquet. You can see so much more of their wedding in the full gallery here, all beautifully photographed by New Jersey wedding photographer 1314 Studio Photography.

A wedding full of color From Sweet & Flower:

Since Tiffeny is Chinese American raised, she wanted a western wedding that was unique to her style with a splash of eastern tradition- an event that would include vibrant colors, handmade elements, family, fun, love and happiness. They accomplished all that and more. As you can see Tiffeny loves color! Her wedding palette was vibrant and peppered throughout the wedding ceremony and reception. Starting with her bridesmaids in dresses of misty blue, dusty rose, daffodil, periwinkle, and tulip and Jack's groomsmen in coordinating bowties and colorful patterned socks - the wedding party was bright and fun.

When asked to describe her ideal flowers, Tiffeny wanted blooms that were happy and friendly featuring a variation of types, shapes, and sizes. She was very hands on in the selection of her flowers and visited New York's 28th Street Flower district to hand select her flowers. In addition to turquoise seashells she purchased from a vintage market, Tiffeny's bouquet featured 14 types of flowers including Patience garden roses, Juliet garden roses, celosia, echeverria, craspedia, lizzy peach and white carnations, phoebe garden roses, brunia, hydrangea, spray roses, blushing bride protean, astible, gomphrena, and queen Anne's Lace - it was quite a variety!

Handmade ElementsTurning the idea of a traditional wedding upside down, Tiffeny wanted a handmade feel without being predictable. With the help of her talented friends, her wedding included custom cake toppers in the image of Tiffeny and Jack with self handcrafted cake topper banner, hand tied invitations, handmade guestbook, props, and favors. She also designed her wedding headpiece - a modern twist on the traditional veil. Additionally, a trained pastry chef, Tiffeny created a custom dessert bar of her favorite cakes and desserts.

The handmade feel extended to her wedding flowers as her wedding party bouquets and boutonnieres were wrapped in yarn in coordinating colors. For the reception, to compliment the tall poufs of baby's breath, three small centerpieces featured flowers gathered in glasses collected by Tiffeny and Jack months prior to their wedding.

From the bride on what she would have done differently, and the total cost of this Bright and colorful Celebrate At Snug Harbor.

I wish my guests were able to spend more time at the different gardens at Celebrate At Snug Harbor. The property is huge and has many beautiful spaces to see but due to logistics and timing, guests were unable to walk around. Now, I would try to squeeze in time and send maps in advance so guests would know. I also wish I had a more planned photo and video list of shots. Emily and Mark (my video person) were great and did ask me in advance. Being this is the first large event I've planned, now I look back there are many moments I missed that I wish we're caught.

The total single day event doing many things ourselves (printing/assembly/addressing the invites, making cake topper, making favors, designing and printing and cutting favor tags/menus/programs, providing entire dessert table including platters, making own guest book props, doing our own makeup) for 190 guests cost us about $56,000. We also provided transportation for guests from the hotels to the venue which is included in that cost. The following day brunch, travel expenses and hotel rooms for guests that we covered is not included.
