Bright And Colorful Florida Panhandle Wedding

Florida wedding ideas

These two blushing brides are both book lovers and as such, they wanted their wedding to reflect that. With a beautiful beach side venue and a gorgeous warm color palette with pops of mint this wedding is definitely a stunner! Ultimately, it was the culmination of 2 years of planning, 7 years of dreaming, and lots and lots of love.
Ashley and Taylor let their big day tell a story of romance. Read more into this tale of two brides wedding in the full gallery here, magnificently captured by Dear Wesleyann Photography.

Starting out, we knew we wanted a sort of eclectic glamorous feeling. And we knew that books would have to be central to our décor. We are both avid readers, and though our shoe collections are respectively impressive, they are nothing compared to the thousands of titles that occupy shelves, tables, and admittedly, even the floor in our house. Ironically, we both used books to propose to one another. So, we compiled a list of favorite titles – all classics from our childhood to now. Each of these books had key themes of love and family – two themes that are central to our lives and our relationship. We wanted our wedding to celebrate both in décor and in experience. As such, we collected beautiful copies of our favorite books – using them as table names, extraneous decorations, in our first look, and even as favors for our guests. In our minds, the words of Voltaire – inscribed on each escort card – “Let us read and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world” –reflected the tone of our wedding and our life together.

Beyond loving beauty, Taylor and I wanted to create an event that would be a magical evening for our guests. We knew location was key to this goal. The beaches of 30A have always been our vacation escape and thus, we wanted to take this next step together in our favorite place. Taylor’s mother, Kelly, discovered the beautiful Anna’s Veranda and immediately told us about it. As soon as we toured it, we knew it was perfect. A relocated and restored Victorian, this home reflected our love of historic spaces and was in short proximity to a beautiful beach where we would be married. We loved the idea of a backyard wedding reception at a beautiful, Victorian home on the beach. The juxtaposition of a casual family gathering and an excessively decorated dinner appealed to us. We hoped to create an event our family and friends would never forget – from the food to the decor to the music to the dancing. We wanted the bringing together of our families to be unforgettable. And it was.

Taylor and I have always valued beauty in our daily lives. Taylor – both an artist and a lawyer – makes my world more beautiful every day by ensuring each small detail in our home contributes to a lovely whole. Our wedding was no different. Taylor carefully planned each little detail to create the perfect environment for our celebration because she wanted our guests to have a magical evening. First, we chose our color palette – vibrant gold, the perfect mint green, and a mix of corals, peaches, and oranges. These colors mimicked the colors of the beach – capturing the beauty of the sea and the vibrancy of the sunset. Each table had a mix of these colors with beautiful La Tavola linens – mint green tablecloths and sequined table runners. Taylor envisioned an eclectic, decadent, and detailed table scape. As such, we chose a variety of centerpieces for each table – a collection of books, various gold glass votives and containers, single-stems at different heights, and candles.

We also had the most amazing team of vendors ever. Our planner, Jen of It’s A Shore Thing, was our sanity saver. Without Jen, we would not have had the wedding of our dreams. She helped us find the ridiculously, over-the-top talented Dear Wesleyann, who we could not have been luckier to have shoot our wedding (and an engagement session), as well Bella Flora, who totally brought our crazy vision to life. We also worked with Allen from Paradise Cuisine, who let us change the menu, like, 1,000 times, and whose food was delightful and delicious, as well as Brent from Beachside DJ, who kept just about every single guest on the dance floor all night. We were also lucky enough to work with Angela of Hemstitch Vintage, from whom we rented gorgeous vintage china, flatware, and napkins to help capture that eclectic, glamorous feel we wanted. These people were a dream team, and we had more than business contracts with each of them; we felt their love and support through the whole process, and we still feel it now.
