How it all started

Fron Whidbey Island Weddings Kristin and Josh’s gorgeous wedding at Crockett Farm on Whidbey Island would never have happened if not for one incredible, day-long proposal five months earlier. On March 18, 2017, Kristin woke to a letter from Josh telling her to be ready in 30 minutes, and what was going to be just another day became The Day. From the gym to their favorite coffee shop, to relationship reminiscing about their favorite food, Josh’s careful, thoughtful proposal plan was coming together. And his soon-to-be, bride-to-be was enjoying one fabulous day!

The proposal

As day turned to night, Kristin was lead to a private boat (but not before a second letter from Josh advising her to paint her nails!) where Josh was waiting with roses. As the sun dropped over Lake Victoria in Uganda – the country where they live, work, and love – Josh dropped to one knee and their forever officially began. Five months later, on a beautiful Whidbey Island day, Kristin, Josh, family, and friends celebrated their story and their future with an incredible day at historic Crockett Farm.

Non-stop joy

For a couple who met in Tanzania and have, together, committed their lives to bettering the lives of those around them, it was a day for them to receive back the love and happiness they share everywhere they go. From a first look deep in the forest to late-night dancing in the barn beneath twinkling string lights, Kristin and Josh’s wedding was non-stop joy.

It’s all in the details

The elegant simplicity of Kristin’s eucalyptus and rose crown set the tone for a big celebration marked by small details: Kristin’s flowing lace halter dress, hand-lettered chalkboard signage, a lace-wrapped driftwood ceremony arbor, and eucalyptus and rose runners lining rows of handmade farm tables in the barn. It all added up to one amazing day, for one truly amazing couple.
