her turn to plan her dream wedding

From the bride: After years of working with wedding professionals as a marketing professional it was my turn to plan my dream day to the man of my dreams, Ibby. I already had years of looking through wedding galleries and seeing what details I LOVED and what I could live without, and Ibby was super involved knowing and happily sharing the details he truly cared about too.

Vacation wedding under one roof

When it came to looking at our budget we didn't want to sacrifice either the experience or beauty of our wedding, so it was time to get a little creative. We started with bringing the scale of our wedding back and invited our large immediate family (6 siblings on his side and 5 on mine!) and longtime friends for a vacation focused wedding weekend in Temecula. We rented a large vacation home so everyone could stay under one roof with us and it doubled as our venue!

finding the right balance

As we figured out more details we found a beautiful balance between DIY projects and trusting the Pros. Here's a break down: DIY details: Our centerpieces which were stained wooden planks with 300 holes drilled in each board to hold a variety of different colored candles. We found taper candle wholesalers and a company who sold fresh-dried moss and that became our centerpieces. With the extra wood, we created table numbers. We had white napkins... but those didn't fit the color scheme so we spent an evening dying them ourselves at home into the soft grey that perfectly matched the bridesmaid dresses!

advice from the bride

My Advice for future brides is 1) to trust your wedding pros! While I didn't have many of them actively working on my wedding, I received tons of advice from industry friends and professionals who helped me make it all come true. 2) Let your dreams run wild but be open to finding a different way to make them come true, If you have the budget for it, bring the BEST pros on you can, if not then get a little crafty or have your family help with little homemade details which will make the day that much more special! And 3) I heard it almost every day leading up to the wedding; Stop and appreciate every little moment because the day will go by so fast. Me and Ibby thought we DID do that and it still felt like the day wasn't long enough!
