A Countryside Wedding in Southern Vietnam

A Countryside Wedding in Southern Vietnam

With a global pandemic still looming, this couple certainly did their part to keep their wedding safe and small. Their ceremony was so isolated, the location could only be reached by boat! In the middle of a seemingly endless rice field, this couple exchanged vows in front of seven of their nearest and dearest in one of the most unique ceremonies we've ever seen. They kept the fashion chic and minimal, reflective of the world's current situation. Instead of gold or platinum, they opted for symbolic rings made from folded coconut leaves.

This couple trusted Event By Padma De Fleur to help them bring their vision to life in a way that was safe and respectful to their guests and their community. Because it was entirely outdoors, flowers played a big role in the wedding decor and Padma De Fleur did not disappoint! From the bride's beautiful bouquet to the hanging curtain installation made from tiny folded coconut leaves in various shapes. The aptly named Neverland De Papillons is one of the most extreme destinations we've come across and we love how truly intimate it is! Small weddings allow for beautiful candid moments and these photos by Hipster Wedding certainly capture all of the joy! To see more from this wedding, check out the full gallery. A TRUE DESTINATION WEDDING

A Countryside Wedding in Southern Vietnam

This wedding was held in Sa Dec, Dong Thap, Southern Vietnam, right before the new outbreak in the country. The location itself is not a popular destination for weddings. As this province belongs to the Mekong Delta region, we needed to use boats on some small canals to reach the destination. All of the wedding guests, the groom, and the bride were all brought by boat to the ceremony location.

SYMBOLS AND TRADITION

A Countryside Wedding in Southern Vietnam

It was an intimate wedding with only seven guests, one celebrant, and an arch in the middle of rice paddy fields. There were hanging curtains, symbolic wedding rings made from coconut leaves, and a picnic dinner set up at sunset. The hanging curtain was made from folding coconut leaves (a traditional art of Southern Vietnam) into many shapes like grasshoppers, dragonflies, and fish.
