The moment my husband and I started planning our wedding I knew one of the pieces that was most important to me with the photos. Growing up and periodically look at my parents wedding photos and I felt it was so important that the photographer captured our day so that those that couldn’t be there could look back on it in the future along with ourselves. I looked at a lot of photographers sample work and sent the samples two friends and although Caitlin and Yu are not the cheapest option everyone agreed that they were the best. Kaylee and Andy were a joy to work with from the start. We took our engagement photos about a year before our wedding and although my husband started out the session extremely nervous by the end it felt like we have been best friends with Kaylee and Andy for forever. They made our photos look so natural and gave us great guidance and cues throughout the process. We felt that they really thought about every part of the session. For example even before the session in the weeks leading up they Provided us guidance on outfits and make up and made sure we really felt as comfortable as we could going into it. Kaylee and Andi helped us plan our wedding timetable and when the big day finally came myself and my bridesmaids end up running very late due to a slow make up artist. Instead of freaking out or putting pressure on any of us Kaylee made sure we knew that it was all going to work out and coordinated with Andy to get everything done and the best new time table possible. Kaylee and Andi perfectly captured a Wedding day and we are in love with our wedding photos. The entire experience has been so great that one of my bridesmaids actually decided to work with Kaylee and Andi as well based on her experience with them at my wedding. Looking back on our big day of course there are things here and there that I would do differently. But I would pick Kaylee Chelsea photography to do my day 100 times over. Not only are they the best for photographers but they’re the best people and I am so thankful for our entire experience with them.

     

Kaylee and Andy are two beautiful souls! Their personalities but especially their photography is a true portrayal of that. We instantly fell in love with Kaylee and Andy’s photography when we were looking at engagement and wedding photo inspirations across Instagram. We found their handle and were in awe. We couldn’t get enough about how they captured their couples and the gorgeous backdrops they chose and lights they used. Even though our wedding was 3 years away, we immediately sent them an email since we were eager to learn more.

Kaylee and Andy responded quickly to our request and provided a ton of details about their work and also asked us numerous questions. I didn’t mind because that’s the way to get to know your future engagement/wedding photographers better and helped build trust with our new forming relationship. After we went back and forth via email for a bit, they suggested hopping on a FaceTime call together. We thought this was unique but, again, loved how interested they were to get to know us better from the beginning. We’ll never forget the FaceTime, since for us, it was after a long workday and the first time we ever did something like that, and for them, it was in an airport headed to France. The fact that Kaylee and Andy made time for us prior to a vacation spoke volumes about their fondness for their couples. Not to mention, the conversation was so fun! It was like we already knew each other and were reconnecting. They asked us beneficial questions and we did the same. At that moment, we knew they were going to be the “ones” to photograph our engagement and wedding. We were absolutely thrilled!

Leading up to the engagement photos, Kaylee and Andy wanted to make sure they were perfect. They asked us the feel and vibe we were looking for, and really worked closely with us to make the engagement session truly special. My husband thought it would be unique to do photos looking into a window with a backdrop and since we enjoy coffee together, Kaylee and Andy suggested Handlebar in Santa Barbara with the Old Mission reflected. It was an awesome idea! They also recommended heading to fields afterwards to take in that “buttery light” - a term they use and we love! We were so excited! After all, they are always hunting for new areas to capture stunning photos of their couples. I also visit Phoenix for work, and when I was in Phoenix, I texted them and we met up for the first time at a tea shop. It was extremely enjoyable to meet them in their hometown for the first time. And again, it was like we were old friends rekindling.

It was finally here - Engagement Photos Day! We enjoyed our drive from LA to Santa Barbara and were excited (and a little nervous) for what the day had in store. We never took professional photos together and didn’t know what to expect. But when we got to Santa Barbara, Kaylee and Andy were the professional friends that we conversed with prior and truly built that trust with. We started slowly at Handlebar, and then eased into shots around the Old Mission - Kaylee and Andy directing us slightly but in the most beautifully powerful way. They showed examples of what they were suggesting through their personal love, and made it easier to follow. They were also our hype people, making us smile and laugh all day long - as well as fall even more in love. We “melted” into each other more than we ever thought we could. It was magical. And after a few hours, we still had the fields! Between downtown Santa Barbara and the fields, we enjoyed lunch together and built our relationship even more getting to know each other better. And then we wrapped our memorable day up at the fields with an ocean backdrop as the sun set and the buttery light fell around us. At times when Kaylee directed, Andy helped assist us with holding our clothes/accessories and even played lively music to keep the vibes high. They go above and beyond for their couples! As the sun set, we continued to melt into each other and truly didn’t want the day to end. We ended the beautiful day unable to say goodbye, and headed back home to LA with a new memory we’d never forget.

In a few short weeks, we received an email from Kaylee and Andy saying that our Engagement Photos were ready. What?! That quickly. We were impressed. And we were even more lost for words when we went through our photos. They were more than we could have ever hoped for. Perfectly capturing our love, and the excitement we had all day long. We didn’t see any butterflies or nerves. They made us look at ease and natural. We were amazed that we had hundreds of photos together - all with different backdrops, scenes, poses. Those photos really brought us back to our Engagement Photos day and all the love and nature that surrounded us.

Our wedding was in about a year and a half, and while there were other details we were anxious about, our Photographers were not one of them. We were simply thrilled to see them again in Palm Springs and have the best time all over again. Prior to the wedding, they helped build a day-of, hour-by-hour timeline with our Planner which was very helpful for us to imagine how the day would be. And they also asked for inspiration photos from other weddings or from the venue. We love how collaborative they are!

Ah, Wedding Day - the happiest day of our lives. And again, captured with perfection via Kaylee and Andy’s lenses - their eyes, cameras, hearts. It was truly exhilarating to see them both again since we built a solid relationship. Knowing the day-of timeline by hour made my husband and me feel stress-free. We were simply ready to have an amazing time together, celebrate with family/friends, and get married! Starting the day off by taking shots of us getting ready, leading to first-look which they discovered the perfect nook for us the evening prior. Next stop was around the venue, and more importantly, gearing up for the pictures around Palm Springs in a vintage Thunderbird we rented for the day. They guided us to their vehicle which had AC blasting (it was 90 degrees and they took care of us with AC and bottled waters/snacks) and to the street they hunted prior to our big day. It was the perfect Palm Springs street - filled with palm trees, mid-century modern homes, and the mountain backdrop. We had such an incredible time playing and melting (again) together!

We spent an hour together before we headed back to the venue to celebrate photos with our family and friends. Again, with a stunning background of bougainvilleas - flowers I adore and that were included in our engagement photos too! Ceremony came next and at this time, my husband and I were in our element. Relishing the day, moment by moment. And Kaylee and Andy captured it all, but not in your face… more in the background of those special moments. One of my favorite memories of Wedding Day was sunset photos with my husband. Kaylee and Andy carved this special hour for us to immerse ourselves in that light we all love, and to just be together as husband and wife for the first time. Kaylee and Andy sincerely listen to their couples and care for them tremendously. The day continued and it went a perfect pace for us. We were able to take it all in. As the day began to conclude, we enjoyed dancing and talking with Kaylee and Andy. They’re simply more than photographers. They were celebrating us, and they were our friends at our wedding.

Even more anxious than our engagement photos, we were desiring to receive our wedding photos because, just as Engagement Photos Day, we knew we’d be impressed and be able to walkthrough our Wedding Day again in our memories through Kaylee and Andy’s captures. And boy, this was an understatement. The photos were out of this world! And there were so many of them! Kaylee and Andy do not skimp on their work - they are the total opposite. They provide so much love, attention, detail into it all. There were moments that we didn’t realize were captured. And there were photos that looked like our Wedding Day was a fairytale, which makes me smile because I felt like a princess. We’ll forever be speechless and indebted to Kaylee and Andy for their professionalism, kindness, and love.

Seriously, Kaylee and Andy - you two are so special and unique to us. We are grateful we discovered you and even more appreciative that our relationship has blossomed into what it is today. We can’t wait to see you again for my MOH’s wedding - I’m so happy that she was inspired by your work and chose you both for her engagement and wedding too!

     

I seriously can't recommend Kaylee Chelsea Photography enough! This husband and wife duo, Kaylee & Andy, are the kindest people ever. I found them through Instagram and the moment I came across their page, I knew I HAD to have them as our wedding photographers. These two are very talented people and know how to capture the beautiful emotions that come with a wedding! They made the planning process completely stress-free, checked up on us often (since we were planning during COVID), and were very accommodating throughout the entire planning period. When it came to our wedding day, Kaylee and Andy were extremely professional and managed to capture every moment! Their attention to detail was impeccable. They made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, even when it was 100 degrees outside!!! Such troopers. Our entire family was blown away by them because everywhere you looked, Kaylee and Andy were there capturing the moment. When my husband and I got our photo album, we were overcome with emotion with how beautiful the photos were! I had literal tears in my eyes because looking through the photos they took brought back all the emotions I was feeling in the moment. We can't thank Kaylee and Andy enough for being our wedding photographers. We are so grateful to have these amazing photos and will cherish them forever. When my husband and I started planning for a destination wedding in Arizona, I immediately went to Instagram and started researching photographers. That was my number one priority, even before we had decided on a venue. I came across Kaylee and Andy and they were exactly what we were looking for - bright, airy, warm photos that showed the raw emotion of a wedding day. When we set up a FaceTime meeting, it was like we had known them forever. They radiate happiness and love and positivity and you immediately want to be friends with them.

Once we booked them for our wedding date, we traveled a few months later to take engagement photos. They made everything so fun and comfortable. My husband was so much more at ease with Andy being there too - he truly is hilarious. When our wedding had to be postponed due to the pandemic, we were devastated. I immediately reached out to Kaylee and asked what days they had available towards the end of the year - I was willing to replan every other venue as long as they could photograph our wedding day. We settled on a new date and continued the planning process with them. Kaylee and Andy are so organized and communicative; they made the timeline of the day easy to follow and were always willing to hop on a call and talk us through any uneasiness or questions since we lived across the country.

When the day of the wedding finally arrived, they were truly in their element. They captured every part of the day perfectly. From the first look, to the little details on the table, to sunset photos and dancing into the night, every photo was beautiful. We are so grateful that we found such a lovely couple to photograph our special day. The photos are something we will cherish forever and Kaylee and Andy feel like part of the family now. My fiancé and I used Kaylee and Andy for our enagement shoot in Sedona, AZ. They were very responsive via e-mails and answered any and all of our questions. They were very helpful in directing our shoot from posing to outfits and styling. During the shoot they had an energetic and fun spirit that allowed us to be comfortable in front of the camera. We have never done any photographs professionally and they made it so easy for us. We got our pictures quicker than expected and we are still blown aeay by them. We chose them as we liked their very bright, airy and romantic photography.
