This Ceremony Setup Is Our New Favorite Way To Use A Balcony

Share

Modern Sophistication In A French Château

Going for a modern, sophisticated vibe, this team of French wedding professionals created a stunning take on the classic château wedding. First, let’s talk fashion. The bride’s boudoir look–a silk floor-length robe with billowing sleeves, a touch of white eyeliner, and a disheveled updo, set the tone for the rest of the shoot. For the ceremony, she donned a glittering sculptural off-the-shoulder gown worthy of a princess. The groom was also dressed like royalty in his double-breasted classic black tux. And while all of that caught our attention, the most remarkable part about this wedding inspiration was the ceremony setup. They used a second-floor balcony as a canopy from which to hang chandeliers and florals, giving it the feel that the ceremony arch was built right into the building.

LMD Conseils designed this shoot, for a workshop hosted by Christophe Serrano, to show how a modern couple could host a wedding that is unexpected and timeless at the same time. Château De Tourreau is a stunning venue with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in a ton of natural light, and it has plenty of beautifully manicured outdoor spaces. Capucine Atelier Floral created these remarkable floral arrangements including the hanging ceremony installation. Virginie Templier took these gorgeous photos that blur the line (literally) between fashion photography and wedding portraits. Read on to hear more from Virginie Templier about the inspiration behind this shoot. You can see even more of these beautiful images in the full gallery

CONTEMPORARY SOPHISTICATION

Modern Sophistication In A French Château

On notes of sophistication and mix, the last workshop of Christophe Serrano was definitely modern. I was lucky enough to take part in this “out of the ordinary” workshop, which obviously brought together photographers, but also, for the first time, florists and wedding planners. It was a mix of high-end service providers, supervised by Christophe Serrano for the photographers, but also by Capucine Atelier Floral for the florists, and Flavia Dausoa from LMD Conseils, who was present to intervene on the “business” part. I take you to an editorial shoot combining creativity, luxury, and audacity. It tells the story of a young couple, getting married at the Château De Tourreau, a prestigious venue located in the heart of Provence, in the Vaucluse department. A beautiful cypress avenue, splendid fountains, beautifully maintained gardens, luxurious chandeliers, a splendid staircase, welcome to Tourreau!

PURITY AND REFINEMENT

Modern Sophistication In A French Château

The design of the shoot, created by Flavia, combines purity, refinement, and a sense of detail, which is particularly visible on the splendid cakes of Mon Annie, the very pretty stationery of Axelle de Papier June, not to mention the impressive floral decoration staged by Cécile Détienne and her students. The ceremony and the reception were initially planned in the gardens, but a wind that day put our plans to shame. As a precaution for the fragile decorations, the table was finally installed on the terrace–and it was a decision that we don’t regret. The table is a great way to highlight the floral decoration hanging on the front of the castle, with a poetic, soft and authentic look.

MODERN STYLING

Modern Sophistication In A French Château

The makeup chosen for Mathilda was always aimed at this idea of modernity above all. It was perfectly done by Jiyoung from Modern Bride Paris. We played a lot with the light and with the contrasts, as well as with the movements, proposing to the models some blur and modern and shifted poses, combined with an haute-couture dress by Thibaut Lauvergne. Beginning the reportage with a boudoir part, we continued the day with the secular ceremony and the reception.
