The One Wedding Theme That Never Goes Out Of Style

Some things never go out of style, like a vintage sports car, an elegant glass of bubbly, a white tux, and a classic wedding design. In our constant stream of content, it can be so tempting to go for the newest, coolest, and trendiest when it comes to your wedding. And while that is certainly fun to look at, there is something to be said about going with a timeless style that you're sure to look back on and love for years to come. This classic wedding at a grand estate in Vancouver serves as the perfect reminder that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Ivy May Floral used just the right amount of color in these over-the-top floral arrangments that they merely enhanced the already glamourous Hycroft ManorMelissa Ortanez Events aimed to do justice to this spectacular venue with an equally stunning wedding, and they were right on target! From the invitation suite and ceremony site to the grand exit, Samin Abarqoi was there to document every last detail. To see even more from this inspiration shoot, check out the full gallery. THE FAIREST OF THEM ALL

The One Wedding Theme That Never Goes Out Of Style

It's no secret that Hycroft Manor is the most stunning heritage venue in Vancouver. This spectacular early twentieth-century mansion was once the center of Vancouver's social scene and it still holds many remarkable events. It was a dream come true to create an utterly romantic, fine art-inspired editorial shoot at this picturesque place. We centered this design around the classic and timeless architecture of the venue.

ALL THE SPRING FLORALS

The One Wedding Theme That Never Goes Out Of Style

Jane's inspiration behind the florals originated from the beautiful Edwardian style of Hycroft Manor. She created a floral design that was luxurious but didn’t take away from the classical details of the manor. The floral installation was lush, dense, and bursting with local foliage. In order to soften the stately 9-foot structure, wax flowers, airy plumosa ferns, and jasmine vine were added before the final touch of garden roses, larkspur, and delphinium. To keep the floral details classic yet fresh and as a nod to spring, ranunculus was the star of the show. They were cut that morning from her own flower field. Sweet pea, another spring classic, adorned the bridal bouquet as it embodies the arrival of the season!

TIMELESS THREADS

The bride wore an exquisite Anny Lin couture gown–a classic long sleeve dress with an illusion sweetheart neckline and sheer back, a timeless and feminine A-line silhouette in blush. All the details and embellishments set this dress apart from the rest, showing off a bit of skin but remaining classic and stylish. The romantic half pulled back hairstyle by Anita Lee complemented this gorgeous dress as well as the most delicate handmade floral earrings by Janice Tan. Our menswear included a classic black tux paired with a soft blush vest and Windsor tie for the ceremony and a dapper white tux with black trim shawl lapels artfully paired with a black bow tie and pocket square for the reception. They were perfectly tailored to our handsome groom by Black & Lee.

GILDING THE LILY

We chose to place the tablescape at a unique spot with the view of Hycroft's iconic columns and stairs as a backdrop. Oatmeal tablecloths and linens were used to create a clean background for the colors in the centerpieces. The polished design of the table setting with its smoked candle votives, black-rimmed glass charger plates, and Thonet chairs matched perfectly with the manor's door and window frames. The spring floral inspiration was carried through the invitation suite by Daylight Letters with abstract watercolor and gouache paintings on the envelope liner and save the date card. It also served as the inspiration for the dessert table and complemented the overall decor. To top off the sweetest editorial, we definitely had to add an iconic vintage getaway car! Nothing really says classy fête like a 1962 Ford Thunderbird in flame red.
