Eco-Friendly Wedding Inspiration: Stylish & Sustainable Design Ideas

Share

Bride and groom share a loving moment outdoors on their wedding day

Surprisingly enough, our next inspirational shoot was inspired by a disposable plate. Now this is no ordinary plate – it was made from only two products: fallen leaves and water. VerTerra plates are non-toxic, biodegradable, compostable and downright stylish. As you will soon see, they seamlessly blend in an elegant table set up and best of all you can toss them in the trash and not even think twice about it.
In fact, all the elements that you will see in our next shoot, styled by Catalina Bloch, were selected with some concept of being eco friendly but not to the extent of being a over the top. You can see more stylish eco friendly wedding deas in the full gallery by clicking here. All these pretty photographs were captured by AMBphoto.

From Stylist Catalina Bloch

Thee VerTerra plates are what started the entire inspiration for this shoot. These plates are made from leaves that naturally fall to the floor and are made into plates by applying steam and pressure to them. They have this imperfect natural look that I just love. Wabi Sabi.

The furniture used in this shoot was provided by Casa Luna Furniture store. Some of these pieces, like the bar, are made from 500 year old Mexican mesquite wood doors and others, like the chairs, are made of pine. All hand made in Mexico and with sustainable materials. I love how rustic and natural the furniture is.

All the elements of this styled shoot were selected with some concept of being eco friendly but not to the extent of being a over the top. Most people are conscious of the environment but don’t necessarily want to have a completely recycled wedding. Little steps make a big difference.
