Spring Into Winter…It’s A Thing

Spring Into Winter...It's A Thing

Winter weddings don't have to be dark and moody, in fact, this team decided to take the opposite approach. They leaned into the brightness of a fresh snowfall and opted for sunny yellows and bright greens to make this spring-inspired shoot really pop! If you're looking to brighten up your winter wedding, this shoot is a must-see!

A SCENIC LOCATION

Spring Into Winter...It's A Thing

This inspirational shoot took place in McCall Idaho at the new Scandia Inn. We wanted a simple yet elegant approach to this shoot since this venue has so much to offer. The Scandia Inn, known as one of McCall's original Inns, recently came under new ownership and with that, a complete remodel and the opening of their venue space. With that, they wanted to showcase all the elements of the property. Radion Photography & Cinema captured it perfectly from the detail shots of our bride and groom getting ready in their separate rooms and the first look outside in the snow to the gorgeous ceremony, highlighting the brick wall, and the tablescape set in the open and modern reception space with all of the beauty that the McCall area has to offer.

The Best of Both Worlds

Spring Into Winter...It's A Thing

Ivory And Sage Events designed this shoot with both Winter and Spring in mind. There comes a point in the winter months when you're ready for some color in the wedding palette selection and want to start feeling those spring vibes! However, when there's still snow on the ground you combine the best of both worlds. Scandia Inn was a perfect venue to bring this vision to life. The brick wall we used for the ceremony space, adorned with crawling greens and gorgeous flowers, was the perfect indoor backdrop. Our focal colors were plum purple and yellow; once again combing a darker winter tone with a lighter spring color. The floral deck we used to achieve this look consisted of golden mustard roses, burgundy ranunculus, brown Dutch tulips, chocolate cosmos, white delphinium, and smilax. We lit the ceremony with an abundance of candles to bring a warm vibe to the space.

WHAT THEY WORE

Spring Into Winter...It's A Thing

The couple, Ciarah & Alex, actually got married in Mexico one month prior to this shoot. The bride's dress came from a local shop in Boise, ID, Sara Beth Bridal. The designer is Kenneth Winston and the dress's name is Ella Rosa. The bride, Ciarah, wore this dress perfectly and we chose to style her hair up to accentuate the off-the-shoulder design. The back cape, rather than a traditional veil, was the perfect accessory and wow factor for the dress. The groom, Alex, was dressed in a plum-colored suit by The Black Tux. The statement, yet tasteful, suit color went perfectly with the floral palette. It popped well against the brick ceremony wall and also in the snowy photos that the couple took outside.

SWEET MOMENTS

Spring Into Winter...It's A Thing

Our bride and groom cheered over glasses of rosé as they sat at a table covered in lush linens, breathtaking flowers, custom print menus, detailed glasses, and burning candles. They then cut into the most decadent chocolate mocha cake and enjoyed feeding each other the first bite.
