Nothing says spring like butterflies, and this shoot has plenty of them. Inspired by the changing seasons and the metamorphosis of caterpillars as they turn into butterflies, this team created the spring wedding design of our dreams. What better place to start than Lake Como? Villa Del Grumello, a grand whitewashed estate was the perfect background to this light and airy inspiration shoot.
Sabine Wedding wanted to create a shoot that was mostly white but didn’t lack color–a difficult balance to strike, but they did it! They called on Lada Fiori to create monochromatic florals and we’re obsessed with how they turned out. Even the greenery reads white in photos! Matteo Coltro captured these ethereal photos of the models as they transformed before their very eyes and Wedding Reel was there to get it all on video. A TIME OF REBIRTH
My initial inspiration for this styled shoot started with a totally white mood board, but my intention was also to include some colorful details. Springtime is the rebirth of nature and butterflies are the symbolic metamorphosis of life. The transformation of butterflies signifies the change from engagement season to wedding season. And then, my creative ideas with butterflies started flowing. There are so many gorgeous details within these whimsy-filled wedding scenes: the outdoor wedding ceremony, the wedding reception in the Villa, and the party time with wedding cocktails. I wanted the color palette to be light and airy white tones to complement the change from spring to summer. The wedding stationery written in calligraphy wrapped around the flatware and the layered place setting that matched the color palette were my favorite parts.
A SOFT AND MODERN ROMANCE
The off-white of the incredible bridal gown, matched with the venue’s interior white shades so perfectly. Modern lines meet soft, romantic tulle–both sensual and refined. The cascading orchids in the wedding bouquet and the beautiful bridal jewelry gave a luxurious and elegant bridal touch. The varied textures between luxe orchids and rich roses make up a tapestry of white tones that brought together a minimalistic yet luxurious feel at the same time. The beautiful wedding cake was embellished with silk butterflies. In addition to the cake, white cake pops, cute cakesicles, and macarons were the perfect touch for the dessert table. In the red Alfa Romeo Duetto car, the models look like they just stepped off a red carpet with a fun, after-party bridal beauty look that perfectly complements her attire along with the rest of the day.
