How To Make Your Wedding Stand Out At A Popular Venue

How To Make Your Wedding Stand Out At A Popular Venue

When you decide to get married at a venue that is commonly used for weddings, it’s difficult to think of something that will set your wedding apart from the others that have been held there. While you can do a lot with the wedding design, like a fresh color palette or bringing in your own rentals to customize the space, consider first switching up the traditional locations for the different parts of the wedding. This shoot at Sunstone Villa set up the ceremony in the vineyard centered on a magnificent old oak tree making it feel like a scene straight out of your favorite romance movie.

This stunning spring wedding was designed by Heather Benge Events and photographer team Jocelyn & Spencer were there to capture every beautiful moment. Sunstone Villa is such a versatile venue and has so many fun locations to hold your ceremony and reception, sometimes, you just have to think a little outside the box. La Fleur Du Jour blew us away with these delicate florals that pull nature directly into the wedding design. Check out the full gallery to see more from this shoot. Read on to hear more from Photographer, Spencer Johnson about how this inspiration came to life.

A CEREMONY IN BLOOM

As guests arrived at the destination venue they were taken down a light gray gravel drive lined with olive trees on one side and rows of vines on the other. Soon enough, the ceremony space came into view and their attention was drawn to the couple’s altar. Under the guidance of La Fleur Du Jour, greenery and pampas grass lined each side of the aisle and an abundance of florals was placed on each side of the oak tree.

HIDDEN DETAILS

After tying the knot, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour among one of the sandstone walls within the Villa’s property. Each guest’s drink was carefully arranged on a small rowing boat. The drinks were labeled and included their names beautifully calligraphed by Momental Designs. Paddles leaned against the boat which was a special symbol to the couple and their relationship. A sentimental hint to one of the first dates they went on together.

DINNER WITH A VIEW

As the couple’s cocktail hour came to a close, guests were treated to an intimate dinner among the vines. A beautifully set table with white and green floral arrangements and iridescent accents drew a line down the center. A green-rimmed charger and gold-handled flatware were placed before each guest to complement their iridescent cylinder cups. After dinner, each guest was served a slice of cake from the two-tiered masterpiece created by Love And Sugar Cakery. While finishing their meal they enjoyed views of the vineyards, villa, and the rolling hills of the valley. It was the perfect setting for Amelia and Matthew’s intimate wedding day at the Sunstone Villa.

Amelia was the epitome of subtle beauty in her white Styled Gowns wedding dress that possessed a long train and floral patterns sewn among the top layers of tulle. Her elegance was enhanced by Sun Kissed And Made Up’s soft touches of makeup and Loeffler Randall heels with white bows. Her groom wore a gray three-piece suit from The Modern Groom which completed his modern and masculine look.
