A Sustainable Wedding? It Can Be Done…And It Looks Amazing!

A Sustainable Wedding? It Can Be Done...And It Looks Amazing!

We obviously love weddings, but it's no secret that weddings can be less than sustainable...but it doesn't have to be that way. From foraged florals to plant-dyed silks and second-hand decor, this team from Ontario went all-out to make sure that they took only pictures and left only footprints in this camping-themed inspiration shoot. With pops of red against a stunning forest backdrop, this shoot is a feast for the eyes.

These photos by Liz Gareri give a fashion-forward edge to this natural wedding. Attia Events designed and planned this inspiration shoot, including sourcing vendors that use sustainable practices. The Moody Blooms created all of these stunning arrangements from foraged florals. Rapid Waters Retreat set the tone for this shoot that was all about celebrating love and Mother Nature and Sonder Films was there to capture it all on film. All the images are in the full gallery, so be sure to click through and read on to hear more from Liz Gareri from The Organic Moment.

This amazing group of vendors went full force with their environmental practices! The Moody Bloom’s floral arrangements were sustainably foraged and sourced from a local collective. Silk And Sumac uses plant dye to prepare their gorgeous silks while Design In Words drew beautiful calligraphy on foraged leaves, bark, and wood. Attia Events went on a second-hand adventure to find all the decor. The gorgeous Sweets From The Earth coconut cake is completely plant-based. The Loved One hand creates her artisan accessories, they are made to last as heirlooms and be passed down for generations to come. Liane Vaz created the rings from recycled metals and The Brides' Project only carries dresses that are up-cycled with proceeds going to cancer charities. These are just some of the many ways to integrate zero-waste and up-cycling into your wedding!
