A Rustic Chic Llama Wedding at Younger Ranch

you and me and this llama on our wedding day

Sometimes we just can't put it any better than our vendors... take it away Sharee!

From Sharee Davenport: Llama love you all the days of my life - nope, that's not a typo. Not only does this styled wedding feature gorgeous bold colors and rustic vibes, it also has adorable live llamas. After seeing llamas at weddings start to hype on the internet, Kelvin, the owner of Crooked Wood Outfitters felt his llamas were fit for the job. Mama, Aspen and their gentlemen entourage are long-time pack llamas and they absolutely love people so weddings are the perfect place for them.

Keep scrolling to hear how Sharee and Kelvin's Llama's made this wedding shoot one we won't soon forget, not for as llama as we live! Oh, and don't miss any of the photos, we have tons more for you to see in the full gallery

Well behaved Llamas!

Sharee (that's me!) has a little bit (or a lot a bit) of an obsession with llamas so when she saw an opportunity to put together a styled wedding with them her heart exploded about ~13 times. We paired up with a team of incredible vendors, found a venue that didn't mind the domesticated llamas coming INSIDE and set to planning.

We used burgundy and gold as our color palette of inspiration and had stunning florals in every direction - we also had a caligrapher hand-make custom llama signs that were used as an entrance sign, name cards, and table numbers. Bouquet, bout, centerpieces, and best of all garlands for the llamas (because llamas don't like their ears touched and shouldn't ever wear flower crowns!)

We wanted to keep the popular Colorado rustic vibes, but class it up and integrate some boho vibes as well. We used farm-style wooden tables, faux hedges, golden candle votives and used gold, burgundy and small pops of green in our table-scapes, florals, and decor. The llamas, Mama (big llama) and Aspen (slightly less big llama) had an absolute blast. It's not every day a llama gets to eat off of expensive place settings - they enjoyed every second of it.

Have Llamas, will travel

After shooting the details and snuggling the llamas indoors we brought them out to the fields and they got to majestically frolic around with our lovely bride and groom model, a real couple, Rachel and Jason.

Rachel wore a vintage wedding gown and a fur coat handed down from her great-grandma. Jason wore the suit that he wore on their wedding day. We covered lots of land on the ranch and hit up the barn, pasture, teepee, ceremony site and more. This llama wedding tops all llama weddings and it was an incredible experience to put together and document.
