Jennifer Lawrence May Have Just Started a New Bride Trend

We’ve been riding the Jennifer Lawrence train for years now (seriously, since the first Hunger Games came out, I have been obsessed and girl crushing on J.Law), and it’s pretty safe to say that she can do no wrong. Especially when it comes to fashion. Who else can rock repeat fashion choices like a total boss time and time again? ICYMI, Jen recycled a flamingo pink Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini dress for Amy Schumer’s wedding last week. You’ll need to check that out.

Anyway, she’s a red carpet uniform unicorn. Yep, that sounds about right. And it’s a fitting moniker to describe her couture win at the European premiere of her latest film, Red Sparrow, on Monday evening. She was a glittering, rainbow-hued knockout in a pleated Dior gown. The dress was the epitome of 70s disco glamour, featuring a deep plunging neck and a multicolored, pastel pink, gold and silver skirt. She completed her far out ensem with tousled, seventies-style curls, a centered part, and simple, yet stunning makeup (glossed lips and smoked-out, rose gold eyes).

70s style is killing it these days. Farrah Fawcett haircuts are haute for the A-list crowd.

While her look is hardly bridal at first glance, we’ve been doing some further examining and we think it has ALL of the characteristics of something decidedly aisle-worthy. Let’s talk:

  • The dress is fiercely feminine and womanly - foxy’s the word - oh yaaas. We could totally see any bride wearing this on her wedding day and feeling confident AF

  • It’s glittery, but it’s not a glitter bomb. The dress has just the right amount shimmer and sass, without getting too holographic

  • The bare, open back and exaggerated v-neck are soooo on point right now in the bridal world, the deep plunge highlights the chest and decolletage with just the perfect dose of sexy

  • Gold, pink and silver have all been celebrated shades on the bridal runways (ethereal blush gowns almost trump white/ivory ones), but seeing them all converge together is utterly magical - we can’t wait to see brides embracing this prismatic palette

  • The wrap and banding at the waist are infinitely flattering. So every woman can feel secure and cinched. ((no Spanx? We’re okay with that))

  • The simple silhouette is exactly where aisle style is trending currently. It’s lowkey and effortless.

Basically, we’re all about it. So, we wanted to round up a few styles that we think totally hit the mark when it comes to matching Jen’s groovy get up. Can you dig it? Swipe on….
