Decorate Your Own Confetti Cake
Step 1: Whisk together butter, powdered sugar and a splash of milk until creamy. Step 2: Place first layer of cake onto a cake stand and using a knife, spread a dollop of buttercream icing over the top of the layer until evenly and thinly covered. Step 3: Take next layer, turn it upside down, cover the surface with jam! Then flip it over and place on top of your first layer. Repeat until all layers are stacked on top of one another.

What you will need: Jam,  1 lb butter,  1 lb powdered sugar,  a splash of milk,  1/2 lb sprinkles,  a knife and spatula
Decorate Your Own Confetti Cake
Step 1: Whisk together butter, powdered sugar and a splash of milk until creamy. Step 2: Place first layer of cake onto a cake stand and using a knife, spread a dollop of buttercream icing over the top of the layer until evenly and thinly covered. Step 3: Take next layer, turn it upside down, cover the surface with jam! Then flip it over and place on top of your first layer. Repeat until all layers are stacked on top of one another.

Step 4: Frost the top of your cake with buttercream. Step 5: Next spread the buttercream horizontally along the cake using your spatula. Wipe your spatula clean into a separate bowl then continue, itÂ’s best to keep buttercream as crumb free as possible. Step 6: Once covered, using a spiral motion work your way around and up the cake scraping off excess icing and even out the surface as much as possible.

Step 7: Empty all of your sprinkles into a bowl so you can grab big handfuls! Step 8: Starting at the bottom of your cake, press sprinkles into the buttercream gently, keep going until the entire base of your cake is covered!

Step 9: Finally cover the top of your cake in sprinkles, gently pressing them in as you go along until you have one edible confetti covered cake!
