Share

Man proposing to woman under a treeWe love the idea of capturing your wedding proposal, and the photos below are actually of a real life proposal documented by Danielle Capito Photography. Anne thought she was showing up to help with an inspirational shoot, but really it was her engagement story. You can read on to hear the whole story from Anne, and see more of this adorable real surprise proposal in the full gallery here. So cute and so fitting for the up and coming holiday, Valentine’s Day.

From the bride to be Anne on her surprise proposal.I met Timmy during my freshman year of college in San Luis Obispo, despite growing up five minutes away from each other. We began dating soon after we met, and the last three years have led us on an unbelievable journey. We’ve shared countless journeys both together and apart, and I always knew that I wanted him to be the one I would journey with for the rest of my life.

After we finished the first part of the shoot at the Valentine’s table, we went up onto a hill overlooking some of the beautiful farms and hills in Atascadero. It was an hour from sunset, and the light was absolutely stunning. Standing below a giant oak tree, Timmy reached for his pocket and got down on his knee. Through smiles, laughs, and sweet practiced words he asked me to marry him! I jumped into his arms and we enjoyed a brief celebration on the hill before we continued taking pictures. Looking back at the photos, I am so grateful that we were able to capture the true emotion of those few minutes after we became engaged. The joy is so authentic and precious, and you can see it in every shot!

Our celebration fully commenced once we drove back to San Luis Obispo, where about 60 of our closest friends and family were waiting to surprise me. As I scanned the cheering room of faces, I was overcome by the love and support that I felt. I began to cry at the sight of my best friend who shocked me by driving 20 hours from Washington to be there. We celebrated late into the night, feeling joyful, blessed, and deeply loved.
