When it’s finally the wedding planner’s turn to get married, you know it’s going to be anything but basic. This couple has over 25 years of event experience together. In fact, the wedding industry is what brought them together. Read on to hear about how this couple put together their stunning multi-location engagement shoot. Liz Zimbelman Photography photographed the day, and you can see all the images in the full gallery.
Nick and Lexi met working at a country club outside of the Sacramento area in 2015, and Lexi is still working within the Sacramento event community as an event planner on the Curated by Grace and White team. These two are tying the knot next October in Santa Cruz, CA. Santa Cruz is also where the couple got engaged this summer.
They opted for San Francisco as the setting for their fall engagement photos with friend and wedding photographer Liz Zimbleman of Liz Zimbelman Photography. Lexi knew Liz would always be the photographer on the big day and back in 2018 there was a photo Liz posted on her Instagram of Land’s End in San Francisco. Let’s just say Lexi didn’t need to explore locations for engagement photos after that.
Lexi contacted some of her favorite wedding vendors in the area to complete the engagement session vendor team – Michele Deann Makeup Artistry, Ambience Floral Design & Gifts, & Grace & White Bridal. The photos were taken at the Legion of Honor Museum, Land’s End, and the Sutro Baths.
The couple opted for a few outfit changes, formal options and more casual all-black attire. Lexi paired glamourous Jeffrey Campbell heels with a beautiful floor-length navy dress from Lulus and Nick’s jackets and pants are from Mens Warehouse. The second outfit was all black, and Lexi knew she had to wear her wardrobe staple: her leather jacket which she will also wear at their wedding. Lexi also got Luna & Stone earrings from her favorite bridal shop in Sacramento – Grace & White Bridal (She may be biased since she assisted in opening the store back in 2019.).
Liz Zimbelman – the photographer – also offers film photography. She recommends getting some photos on film! It is so different vs. only digital, and the outcome is stunning. The couple was thrilled with the film photos because they are something that is not as common anymore, but it may be a trend in 2022.
