I thought that could be a good idea to read the story about this engagement session through my beautiful couple words. They are Daisy and Julian, an amazing couple from New York, passionate about traveling.
From Daisy and Julian
We decided to do an engagement session in Barcelona because it’s a beautiful city, full of life, love, and amazing vibes, and means so much to me (Daisy). I studied in Barcelona in 2006, and the experience changed my life in so many ways. When Julian and I learned that his cousin’s wedding was going to be in Barcelona, we decided to make a trip out of it, so that Daisy could introduce Julian to Barcelona since he had never been before.
Our wedding was coming up, so we decided that Barcelona would be the perfect place to plan an engagement session and capture some fantastic memories together in this magical city. The Barrio Gotico is such a unique place. The streets are a historical labyrinth dating back to the Roman times, many streets open up into glorious plazas creating this amazing energy that makes you feel like you’re in another world.
The Day Of The Shoot
Our experience working with Xenia was perfect. She planned everything with logistical precision, from coordinating a hair and makeup artist to a calligrapher and floral designer in advance just for our session. She asked me for hair and makeup inspiration in advance and designed the calligraphy and florals to match my dress and Julian’s suit perfectly.
We were up before sunrise for hair and makeup, and when Xenia arrived and was ready to shoot, full of her characteristic fun energy and a big smile, she had all of the shooting locations planned out and within walking distance. We had a full morning of shooting, and Xenia gave us a ton of direction and advice on how to pose, where to look, and exhibited extreme attention to detail. The hair and makeup looked beautiful, and the flowers and calligraphy were the stuff of dreams. I wanted to use them all over again on my wedding day!
