Thrifting Nifty Fashions
From the Bride: I had a lot of fun coordinating the outfits for the different settings. Because we scheduled the shoot a few months out, I had plenty of time to put aside some great pieces that came into my designer resale boutique, Love at Second Sight. In fact, all of my photo shoot pieces except for the tulle skirt came from my shop.
Finding an adult tutu skirt that matched my vision for the shoot proved to be more challenging than expected but luckily I found a great website call Tutus For Women that will hand make your tulle skirt just the way you want it.
Classic California Backdrop
For the second half of the session, being as how Brian and I are both California natives, we felt it was an obvious choice to shoot at El Matador beach in Malibu that is famous among the photography community for its breathtaking rocky cliff backdrops.
Find Your Perfect Photographer
I was so excited when we were able to book Katie Shuler as our engagement and wedding photographer that I immediately started brainstorming ideas for our engagement shoot. I knew I wanted to choose locations that would compliment her soft, romantic lighting style.
Brian and I are avid cyclists and always find ourselves riding through the beautiful, rustic-ranch roads of Hidden Valley and knew we wanted to incorporate these epic backdrops for the first half of our shoot.
