We are not sure who the star of the this beach side engagement was, Sophia or Andrea and Randy. Just teasing, of course it was Andrea and Randy! Although, we simply adore when couples incorporate their animals into their weddings.
In fact, Sophia in - a weird way - brought White Loft Studio and these two love birds together. Read on to here the whole story. As always there is plenty more to see in the full gallery.

From White Loft Studio on Planning the engagement session

I find it interesting the different ways in which clients find me and with andrea + randy, it was kismet. Just before I got married, I was helping my landlord find a new tenant and Andrea was one of the inquiries. We chatted a bit via email, discovered our mutual love for dogs, and was even more intrigued when I learned that hers was a Great Dane, Sophia. Almost a year later, I heard from andrea again, asking if I was still interested in shooting her dog and if I would be interested in chatting with her about wedding photography as she had since become engaged! So our relationship continued over coffee and lots of chats have followed as she endeavored through the wedding planning process - a New England Fall barn wedding in an apple orchard with so many sweet DIY details.

When planning their engagement session, I wanted to put together an e-session with some simple styling that was authentic to them as a couple and the location. Andrea and  Randy had recently moved to the New Hampshire seacoast so we settled on Jenness Beach in Rye - my favorite stretch of sand in this neck of the woods and one that they frequent with their pooch.

Becca of Petal Floral Design brought in perfectly simple elements - a quilt from Anthropologie + mason jars with candles. I brought along a bottle of wine and their e-session turned into a welcome break from their busy lives and wedding planning. Sophia is too special to not have some sort of adornment so Becca crafted her collar from blooms and rose-hips that were collected as we walked onto the beach. Andrea's brother, a filmmaker from the West coast, was visiting as well and after we were done shooting, we all stayed on the beach with the setting the sun, a perfect night. On that note we are happy to say White Loft Studio is part of our Hand-Picked collection.
