This Simple Bouquet DIY From Afloral Will Stun At Your Classic Wedding
If you’ve ever wondered if you could DIY your wedding bouquet with as much grace and confidence as some of the influencers you see on Insta, here’s our hot take: Yes, you absolutely can, the key is just to keep things clean and simple. Less is more in the case of novice floral styling, and we mean that wholeheartedly. 5. White Ribbon for a Classic Bridal Bouquet - This was actually an amazing thrift store find. Ribbon gets pricey at craft supply stores, so we recommend taking stock in what’s available at thrift shops, garage, and estate sales. This is no joke, either; we’ve found PURE gold for wedding details and decor when we’ve scouted out these places.
How we did it
And to start, you’ll want to lay out all your stems in an easy-to-scan/easy-to-grab configuration. As soon as you start assembling the bouquet, it’s go time: everything needs to be accessible.
Start by grabbing 3 of the white lilac spring flowers and 2 of the fake lilacs in cream. The combination of white and cream creates a color story that’s decidedly bridal and aisle-inspired.
Gently start bending the stems to create the silhouette for your design. Fanning them out, bending, and twisting the stems helps to create a much fuller and natural-looking bouquet (tight, compact looks make us cringe a little bit). And, thankfully, it’s a lot easier to manipulate the floral product when it’s faux.
After tooling with the volume, fullness, and shape of the flowers, add in the seeded eucalyptus leaves for a touch of greenery, texture, and depth. For reference, we focused on planting the greenery on the edges of the design and a little in the middle. The aesthetic read more whimsical, airy, and organic.
Once you’re happy with the ultimate design, wrap your stems together with the floral tape enclosed in your Essentials Box and tidy up with a few snips to the stems (with your Afloral wire cutters).

To call back to what we said earlier, if you’re attempting DIY for the first time, stick with a minimal, yet timeless floral aesthetic that 1) won’t drive you crazy (you’re planning a wedding, you don’t need extra stress) 2) will match with any kind of classic styling, especially if your palette plays with soft neutrals and 3) can be adapted for you and your bridesmaids (or maid/matron of honor).
