DIY Valentines decor crafts with heart and love string art

Do It Yourself, or DIY, wedding projects allow you to create your own personalized favors and touches that can be applied in any way you can imagine on your special day, for a shower, a party or whenever. All you need are some basic items and a little creativity.
These adorable Do It Yourself Wedding Centerpieces are easy, fun and incorporate your own personal wedding favors made from the heart. You and your partner can make these together and guests can take them home to use in their own space. Change out the flower on top to create different looks. Paintbrush resting on painted block DIY project

1. Drill a hole in the top of the block a couple inches deep and sand it. Paint the entire block your wedding color. We went with gray.

2. After it’s dried, sand the block to give it more of a distressed look. Sand more or less depending on what type of look you’re going for. Hammer the small nails in the wood block in the shape of a word or design.  I chose to write Love and a heart.  Be as creative as you want.

3. Cut a long piece of yarn and tie a knot around a nail.  Weave it around each nail until you spell out the word or create a shape. Tie a knot at the end again to keep it in place.
