Who else’s whole world stopped on Saturday, when J.Lo posted that pic of her hand and a gigantic rock on that finger? Because mine certainly did. These two are soooo adorable together (remember Valentine’s Day?), and at last, they’re finally engaged. And it happened in a sunset-kissed location in the Bahamas. Of course it did.
Now, we won’t lie, the size of this diamond is RIDICULOUS, but if anyone can wear TF out of it, it’s Jennifer Lopez. Sorry, Paris, maybe 20 carats was just too big?
Everyone has been speculating on the precise carat size and cost of Jenny [from the block’s] rock, and we’ve heard everything from 11-15 carats to at least $1 million (upwards of $5 million, some say). Of course, that’s absolutely nothing compared to this power couple’s net worth, so the price isn’t really the shock factor here. Either is the size, really, when you consider how huge of a star J.Lo is. 88.5 million followers on Insta, an insane dance pedigree, hosting credits, acting credits, songstress credits, and Ellen DeGeneres wants to be your Matron of Honor?
Yes, this is celebrity at its best.
But back to that sparkler. The diamond literally just looks like it’s floating on her perfectly-manicured (and deliciously tan) finger. The shape: an rare emerald cut was an amazing choice for her, and puts her in the company of ladies like Amal Clooney and Anne Hathaway. In other words, it’s sophisticated, glamorous, and self-assured. We’ve already said before that an emerald center stone is arresting, it’s blocky, but smooth, it has edges, but overall, it is seamless and composed. This is the type of stone that can be worn alone and independently of any other rings, jewelry, statement pieces, because it carries so much weight (umm, yah) on its own. Plus, it impresses solo stylistically, too, you don’t need to be dressed to the nines to still shine.
