Toady we’re bringing you the Royal inside scoop from Deputy Editor of Royal Central, Jamie Samhan. She is also a royal commentator for CTV, Global and Huffington Post. Her previous work has included fashion marketing and wedding planning! Take it away Jamie ...

At this point, you would have to live under a rock if you haven’t heard about the biggest wedding coming up in 2018. That’s right, you guessed it, the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Everyone’s favourite ginger is settling down and we couldn’t think of anyone more suited!

Sadly, the two won’t be wed in London which means no Buckingham Palace balcony kiss. However, they could be giving us the next best thing as there is a lengthy set of stairs leading up to the chapel’s entrance which will make for the prettiest pictures. It would be unheard of for Meghan to pick a gown off the rack, instead designers will be asked to submit drawings then Meghan will pick her favourite and work alongside them in creating the dress we are anxiously waiting for. So while picking the exact gown would be impossible let's take a guess at what dresses Meghan should pull her inspiration from.

Speaking of incredible stairs, a dress without an exquisite train would be a waste! The ‘Elena’ gown from Canadian designer Ines Di Santo combines the classic lines of Meghan’s style with the princess gown we’ve come to expect from a royal wedding. Just add on some fabric to that train and we’re there!

No one knows Meghan’s style better than the team at Meghan’s Mirror, Co-Editor of the site, Christine Ross figures Meghan will go for something with clean lines like her past red carpet choices. “She’s a modern girl, who once said her bridal gown icon is Carolyn Bessette Kennedy,” said Ross “We expect to see a crisp satin gown with a slim silhouette and modest sleeves - and not a lick of lace! A bespoke design from Anne Barge, perhaps similar to her 2016 “Colmar” gown, would be a perfect choice. Barge is an American-born designer and Meghan wore one of her gowns while playing Rachael Zane on Suits”

Nothing is iconically American as Vera Wang and that precisely why it would seem to be such a great fit for Meghan’s dress. The perfect way to tie her roots into her future. The ‘Evelyn’ dress is simplistic with asymmetrical draping adding just the right amount of interest.

Calvin Klein is another designer who does elegance so well. A bit of a breeze on the big day and this cape would gracefully float in the wind creating the next ‘it’ moment every bride will be dying to recreate.

The chances of seeing Meghan in a full-on ballgown is unlikely. Even something like Kate Middleton’s dress when she wed Prince William is more than Meghan’s laid-back taste, but we can dream! And dream we will as Meghan would stun in this Penelope gown a bespoke creation by St. Patrick!

Not only made in Canada, but designed by Toronto designer Nikki Yassemi of Narces, this 3-D cut out Organza dress would bring a edge to the day and a fresh look on what we think of royal wedding dresses. Meghan is all for bringing attention to Canadian labels, showing that in her engagement interview. A modern dress for a modern princess!

Classic, effortless and drop dead gorgeous doesn’t even come close to describing how Meghan would look in this Carolina Herrera number. Once again, imagine those stairs with Meghan glancing back over her shoulder at the cheering crowds before she enters the church to marry Harry. Just thinking about it has us excited
