Brad and Emilee's Seaside Scottish Wedding Day

Sail away with us to this gorgeous New England seaside wedding! We were overjoyed to learn of this couple's emocore phase in their younger days as a few of us over here can definitely relate. Scene hair, heavy eyeliner, and skinny jeans anyone? Incorporating dark colors and setting the mood with candles throughout the reception was a gorgeous little nod to that emotional expression we hold so near and dear to our hearts! Emilee and Brad really set the vibe for romance on their incredible wedding day.

IN THE DETAILS

Brad and Emilee's Seaside Scottish Wedding Day

Bradford and Emilee are the perfect made for each other kind of couple and it seems like fate that they found each other. Each having gone through their own version of the "emo" phase growing up, they have a unique dark alternative style that made the most beautiful appearance on their wedding day with whimsical signature cocktails and dark accent flowers. Emilee's Jenny Yoo gown (Scroll down to see where to buy this bride's dress) was the perfect mix of traditional and alternative.

THE SCENERY

The groom's Scottish heritage made not only the groomsmen's attire stand out, but the cliffside views make the guests feel like they were actually in Scotland for the weekend. The Emerson Inn sits right near a New England rock cliff that looks over the vast Atlantic.

Les Fleurs in Andover, MA provided that extra touch for the inn that tipped it over the Scottish edge with thistle accents in the bride's hair, bouquet, and the boutonnières and dark calla lilies and anemone as a nod to the more alternative style of the couple. Full weekend guests were wowed with a staircase floral installation of dreams when waking up on the wedding day that featured smilax seemingly climbing up the interior wall.

The DIY sheer table runners (drapes purchased at TJ Max and stitched together) were the perfect nod to the vast ocean views from the reception area. The bride wanted the tables to be light, since the space itself was dark, with lots of candles to make it romantic and silver, blue, and white elements to compliment the green and the tartan. The couple decided on only white flowers since the room had a lot of colors. The venue used blue napkins so instead of renting different colors, the couple incorporated them with the blue candles and found silver candlesticks at Hobby Lobby and bought them out of stock every week.

LOVE FOR FLORALS & PUPS

Brad and Emilee's Seaside Scottish Wedding Day

Whimsical drawings of Emilee and Brad's two cute dogs in Old Scottish attire were displayed as the signature cocktail drink options - Lucifer (red wine sangria) and Magpie (cucumber gin and tonic) - adorable nicknames the couple has for the pups.

The bride even made all of the escort cards herself and created the most beautiful E|B wreath as the centerpiece to the reception. To create the wreath, the bride purchased a dried leaf/greens wreath from a home store on sale, then added white dried natural baby's breath to the outside to create contrast since it was going to hang on a green wall. She then used hot glue to attach it to the back. For the letters, she found the E and the B at a home store and spray painted them white, then sprayed a white piece of wood for the divider and used floral wire to attach them to the wreath.
