You might be dreaming in pink after seeing this New York wedding, and it's easy to see why. Pretty pink details peek out from almost every photo! There's more to this wedding than just lovely pinks, green and berry colors also added to the late summer vibe that's very romantic.
If their adorable flower and all the love present throughout the day doesn't make you go "aww" we don't know what will! We challenge you to see if you can find any pink-free photos in the full gallery, photographed by Cassi Claire Photography.
The Perfect Venue: Highlands Country Club
As fate would have it, we found our venue almost by accident. After reaching out to a beautiful venue in the Hudson Valley we learned that while they were booked most weekends, they had availability at their sister property at the Highlands Country Club. Right away I fell in love with the place; as soon as I stepped onto the grounds of the Highlands Country Club I know that it was for us. We jumped on an open weekend almost immediately. To Sam’s (and my own) amazement we had booked the venue and the wedding date less than one week after he had proposed. It was the first venue we had even toured!
The Right Photographer Makes A Huge Difference
I recruited my maid of honor (my sister Erin) to help with many DIY elements of the wedding including styling our chalkboard signage, writing out escort cards (she learned calligraphy!), building the escort card hanger and making paper cones filled with dried lavender and rose petals to toss at the end of the ceremony. I have so many favorite memories of the day it’s difficult to pick one over another. Our first look was really special. Cassi Claire Photography sold me on the benefits of the first look and she couldn't have been more right. It was so wonderful to be able to spend a few moments together alone with my husband and really soak in the importance of the day. We also had a great time taking pictures with our wedding party thanks to Cassi and her husband Chris who perfectly captured the mood of the day, which was joyous and lighthearted.
Flowers Add The Perfect Pop Of Color
I used the venue as inspiration for my wedding decor. The Highlands is very rustic and elegant, with old hardwood floors, a giant chandelier, fireplaces on either side of the room, and even a little tavern where drinks are served. We decided to just use runners on the oval wooden tables to keep with the rustic theme, and had lush green, pink, and berry florals in gold compotes to add a touch of elegance. I love flowers and greenery, so picking out the flowers was one of my favorite parts of the planning process. Our centerpieces, bouquets and ceremony flowers from Tracey Reynolds Floral Design were beyond expectation. Tracey and I decided on a mixture of garden roses, ranunculus, dahlias and blushing bride protea.
Your Day Should Be A Celebration Of Love
My advice to brides and grooms who are planning their wedding now is to hire great vendors that you trust. Do a lot of research, read reviews, and then trust your instincts once you make a decision. Because of all the pre-planning and the quality of my vendors, on the day of I felt like everything was taken care of for me and I wasn't stressing out at all. Seriously, don’t sweat the small stuff. During the wedding planning process Sam and I put so much work into our wedding, it was easy to get lost in the details. Months of effort into a party that lasts less than a handful of hours. Make it a celebration, make it about you, sit back and enjoy the ride. We did.
