Ah, the morning after the Oscars, alwayyyys one of my favorites. Although, I have to say, I was just a TEENY bit more excited to watch Khloe’s gender reveal on KUWTK last night. Won’t lie. Yeah, but the wake of the Academy Awards is always just such a blur for me. Being in PR, there hasn’t really ever been a post-AA morning where I wasn’t running around NYC like a crazy person, shuttling dresses from one Get-the-Look segment to another. And/or spending three hours right after the show was over, gathering Instagram pics and sending dress matches from my clients to interested editors and producers.
Last night and today, though, I’m stalking alllll the style stuff from the comfort of my own home. Jumping from one celebrity hair stylist’s feed to another, just gushing over all the glamour of my favorite golden girls - Jennifer Garner, OMG.
Anyway, there will always be aisle styles spotted on the red carpet, because white haute fashion wins EVERY TIME. But instead of just throwing all of the white/ivory/blush-colored confections at you (if you’re a bride-to-be, you’ve probably already double-tapped them and saved a folder of inspo for your first dress shopping trip), we thought we’d touch on some of the trends that have all the wedding worthiness in the world. From the coolest brights, reds and metallics for bridesmaids, to fun options for brides to wear to their engagement party, and a few frothy options to float down the aisle in, the styles that stole the spotlight last night will most def be stealing bride’s hearts this year.
Brights for the bestsWe have to thank Jennifer Garner, Ashley Judd, Viola Davis, and Renee Bargh for giving maids some courage to put away the cosmetic palette (though, I’m dying when I say that, nudes and blush pink will always have my heart) and embrace COLOR for their aisle debut. After all, if the bride is wearing white, her girls should be standing out in hella fine hues.
Devilishly good red for the girlsAgain, if the bride is wearing angelic white, then it would only make sense for her crew to go a little dark in red - the sexy to her sweet. Isla Fisher, Leslie Mann, and Allison Janney kind of killed it last night (taking cues from Cardi B. right?). And each of their looks could easily translate to red hot bridesmaids or MOB vibes. Are we wrong?!?!!

Metallics for mind-blowing maids
Wait, didn’t J.Law JUST make a new bridal trend in rainbow metallics? Well, she did it again for maids, because her chainmail-inspired, sequin Dior column gown seriously sent shockwaves through our souls. Couple her fierceness with metallics rocked by Olivia Wilde, Zoey Deutch and Sandra B, and you have the sickest squad there ever was. P.S. We LOVE a metallics color story for maids, especially when you start combining chromes, silvers, golds, platinums, all of it.
Pant suit for the E-party
Must be a thing that all the cool girls are doing, because Emma Stone completely slayed in her silk tuxedo a la Louis Vuitton and Sophie Turner did the same when she showed up in a sexy suited getup for her engagement party in NYC in the fall. In so many words: e-party outfits just arrived - and they’re separates. And they’re stunning.
Champagne marshmallows and celestial dreamsBefore anything even started last night, I peeped a pic of Kristin Cavallari in her Pamela Rolland cream chiffon gown, and literally couldn’t handle it. She is perfection. Of course, this look was destined for bridal stardom, along with a few others, like Allison Williams, Guiliana Rancic, Mira Sorvino and Gina Rodriguez.
