The last few months in lockdown have birthed a whole new type of bride. And maybe not even that, but rather, COVID has made being a calm, cool, collected, and oh-so-chill bride much more mainstream. Engagement parties have been canceled, bridal showers have been scrubbed, planned-for-so-long wedding celebrations have been reimagined more than ever before, but brides are really starting to roll with it, the high tensions are cooling and the major pressures are off, and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t totally here for it. Vow’d Weddings - which is poised to bring a whole new vibe to the wedding world (both online and in-stores) - just launched. And we’ll say it now (and you can hold us to it): the brand is going to become the new shopping standard for bride fashion-hunting heroins.

Proud it’s Vow’d.
First of all, how uncommon is it for a wedding brand to be one word? Designers themselves [typically] have a first and last name, and even the more ready-to-wear brands with bridal extensions aren’t immediately recognized for their wedding-forward reputation. Vow’d is crisp, it’s easy, and the second you see it, you’re already keyed into its nuptials niche. That being said, it’s also modern and trendy, versatile and approachable. We’re not going to say that the bridal world is without its ‘cool girl’ contingents, but when Vow’d goes viral, it’s going to own the category. Brides are going to be loud about Vow’d (we can already imagine all the fun, hyped-up hashtags our frands are going to make up). Photo by Ashlee Crowden Photography. Planning by A Bride's Best Mate.

It’s a whole experience.
Going back to that idea of post-corona bridal burnout, it’s not that much of a stretch to say that soon-to-be weds aren’t going to want that crazy complicated back and forth: i.e. shopping for a dress here, bridesmaids dresses there, accessories and gifts everywhere else. That’s why Vow’d’s curated collection of ship-ready and ship-soon wedding dresses under $1300, squad styles under $200, and accessories, decorations, etc. all under $250 (100+ accessories from headpieces and veils to jewelry and belts, btw) will check all the boxes off at once. We usually don’t love the whole ‘one stop shop’ cliché, but in this case, it’s pretty on-point.
They’ll be opening three locations this year, starting with Knoxville, TN later this month (6/20) and Chattanooga and Nashville later this summer. And beyond their in-store setup, the online shopping experience isn’t just add to cart, pay, and ✌️. Nope, they’re offering virtual appointments with dedicated stylists on hand to walk brides through their entire dress-buying journey. They’ll share close-up details of the dresses live and also provide fit notes so that brides can feel confident that they’re ordering the right size the first time. To help even further, Vow’d has options for virtual shoppers to order a try-at-home box of 2-3 dresses from their favorites list. For $15 per gown, a bride will get a sample size that is exactly or close-to her actual size, and from there, she can pour a glass of bubbly, step in, zip up, and twirl as much as she wants to get a sense for how it’ll feel when she ties the knot for real. ((And if the twirling isn't your jam, know that all the photography on the website is minimally retouched so you can get a real picture of what the product will look like when you dance, twirl and move)).

Fits for your fete and your fiscal sitch.
After being overwhelmed by designer gown prices and underwhelmed by discount warehouse choices, Vow’d saw a need for a fun, attainable bridal experience that didn’t break the bank. And that’s what they’ll be bringing this summer, in inclusive sizes 0-24W, no less.
Need a stunner for your script-flipped affair?
Yep - talking about you brides who decided to change the format and/or formality of your wedding in light of this year’s social distancing measures. If you’ll be eloping, scaling back the size of your soiree considerably, or postponing your date to sometime next year (but still want to celebrate your OG date with a look that’s still #brideAF), Vow’d has a stunning Little White Dress+ (because a jumpsuit is fire, too) edit.

My faves are the Blithe and Daring dresses, but I don’t think there’s one that I don’t love in this lineup. That says so much! ((Peep the full gallery to check out the rest of the 30)).

Even more, as part of the Altar’d State family, giving back is in their DNA; they’ll be giving back a percentage of all sales to nonprofits that empower the next generation of incredible women. 🙌🙌🙌 So, keep up with all the updates on their Insta feed and get shopping on the site rn, if you’re tying the knot a little too far from Knoxville.
