Handcrafted details

There are so many handmade touches at our wedding. Our centerpieces were handmade boxes from beautiful trees on our Parents property in Malibu. There they cut them sanded them stand them and put the table numbers on them, then placed beautiful flower arrangements in them that my aunt from Oregon designed.

Our Fireplace was decorated with a beautiful handmade giving tree with little trinkets placed at the foot of the tree that each had a special meaning for loved ones who have passed. The deer statues were Garrett's Grandfather and Grandmothers that were next to their fireplace that Garrett used to play with when he would visit them.

The Key rack was also handmade with antique rakes and wood from the Ranch in Malibu. My friend hand wrote everything with writing or numbering on it. All the floral arrangements were done by my aunt that flew down three times before our big day to make sure everything was perfect. We also had all our families share their wedding pictures of their big day to create a family timeline.

Wedding advice & Dress Shopping

Try to get as much done by at least a month before your wedding. I took the week of my wedding off and thought that would be plenty to get the final details done and I was exhausted.

My husband and I agree the ceremony was our favorite part of the day! He loved when we said I DO and I loved saying our vows. Our ceremony was so magical I just felt like I was floating! From walking down the aisle to, hammering shut our time capsule, to sharing our vows, saying I DO and being announced! Also our best friend married us and it was so beautiful to hear what he had to say about us!

Finding what to wear was the hardest part for me and my husband I feel like. I went to 6 dress shops before I found the one at the bridal collection in thousand oaks. He went to about 4 places and finally found his suit at 3 Day Suit in Simi Valley. I knew I found the one when all I wanted to do was go back and wear it some more lol.

Shopping for the bridesmaid dresses was the most fun for me. We went to Show Me Your Mumu in Venice and there they have an entire loft just for you and champagne. I got each girl a heart bracelet to wear on the day of from Etsy. My husband got handcrafted leather suspenders for each groomsman with their initials engraved on it.

A love story

Well its very funny actually.....we met at my husband's work which is the Calabasas Landfill where he operates tractors. He saw me throwing away a huge U-Haul of junk from my parent's house, and he told me where I could dump for free and if I would go to dinner with him LOL. We then went on our first date which was amazing, he showed up in the beautiful vintage truck opened the door for me, just like out of a movie. We went to a carnival called Conejo Valley Days in thousand oaks and went on the scariest ride there. He squeezed my hand so tight! I later found out he is terrified of roller coasters. Afterward, he took me to our current favorite restaurant called the Old Place which we have made a tradition to visit every Thursday night for the last 3 years. We could barely eat because we couldn't stop giggling and staring at each other. It was just perfect. After dinner, he surprised me by taking me off-roading up a mountain where there was a bench, where we sat under the stars and talked about life and love and we have been inseparable from that moment on!
