Style Meets Natural Glam Wedding

glam wedding ideas @weddingchicks

The theme for this lovely wedding was old Hollywood glamour set against a lush and ethereal backdrop, structured style vs natural beauty. The color palette was blush pink, champagne, ivory, both gold and silver, and rich black accents and greenery to tie everything together.

Wrigley Mansion was the perfect choice for their theme with its breathtaking architecture and stunning views of the city below. See all the gorgeous sights this style meets natural glam wedding has to offer in the full gallery here, photographed by Courtney Sargent.

Styled Structure Meets Natural Romance

Since my champagne Sottero and Midgley trumpet gown was so formal, we made sure my bouquet was romantically unstructured; my bridesmaids wore floor-length black Jenny Yoo gowns, and their formal attire was balanced out by full flower crowns. Topiaries, lanterns entwined with greenery and flowers, and large pillar candles surrounded us. The result was a stunning juxtaposition of style and romance, of structure and nature. I wanted to strike a balance between glamorous and ethereal at the ceremony, which took place on the mansion’s terrace.

Don't pick your dress first

One thing I would have done differently was to wait until major decisions (venue, color scheme, etc.) were in place before I shopped for my wedding dress. I was so excited to dress shop (as every bride is) and it was the first wedding task I did. I bought a gown that was lovely but low key, and it was only after I found my perfect venue and my vision for the day started coming together that I realized I wanted a dress that made a much bigger statement. I was incredibly lucky that my amazing bridal shop, Lillian Lottie Couture, let me start my wedding dress search over entirely even though my first dress had already been ordered. They could have easily left me high and dry with a dress I was unhappy with but opted to instead bring me back in for a custom appointment with the manager that led to the glamorous Sottero & Midgley wedding gown of my dreams.

Private Last Dance

My husband’s favorite moment was our last dance. While our guests were setting up for our sparkler exit, we had one last dance at our wedding – just the two of us. Our DJ started our song and then left, and our photographer stayed for a few moments. We got to hold each other for one last time at our wedding and end that beautiful day just the two of us.Click here to view their wedding video, filmed by Serendipity Cinematography.
