Rustic Picnic Engagement Session

Rustic Picnic Engagement Session

We wanted the the engagement session to be upbeat, classic and timeless. I liked the idea of a fancy date in a picturesque outdoor environment. We were inspired to have a romantic picnic so we could hangout, have a toast and enjoy some cheese. I wanted to incorporate elements into the photo shoot that had significance to me and Carl. We used vintage props that are family heirlooms. Passed down from generations, we incorporated my great grandmother's silver engraved with her initials, beautiful linens and crystal dishes. The small crystal plates were a gift from my parent's wedding and the champagne flutes were an engagement present to us from Carl's aunt and uncle engraved with our names and the infinity symbol. The paper crane represents good luck, happiness and prosperity and are embedded within Japanese culture. We plan to incorporate cultural elements from both of our backgrounds into our wedding, so this was a fun trial run for the both of us.
