Rustic Canada Mountains Weekend Getaway

lipstick kiss guestbook idea @weddingchicks

The Canadian Rocky Mountains have always been a popular wedding destination, and now more than ever we’re seeing an increase in bachelorette getaways in the mountains. With fresh mountain air, breathtaking landscapes and limitless activities, it’s no wonder!
A weekend in the mountains with the girls is especially attractive for the nature-loving bride who prefers to forego the traditional nightclub festivities, but it’s also great for any bride who just wants to escape for some pre-nuptial bonding with her besties! Explore all the fun from this rustic Canada mountains weekend getaway in the full gallery here, photographed by Kim Payant Photography.

The perfect mountain escape

We took inspiration for this shoot from our ‘model’ bride who has a bit of a gypsy spirit and bohemian flair. We designed our bachelorette escape with her in mind, but we also wanted to stay true to our rocky mountain roots. We wanted the girls to have that quintessential mountain experience, complete with hiking, canoeing, and s’mores by the fire pit. With that in mind, we decided on the beautiful Emerald Lake Lodge as our destination getaway. It’s main lodge is over a 100 years old with authentic rough hewn beams, wood walls, and field stone fireplaces. It had everything we were looking for in a mountain escape!

Custom bridesmaid box

After a full morning of outdoor activities, the girls were more than ready to sit down at their boho themed picnic session styled by Naturally Chic. They relaxed on a grassy spot, with mountain views overlooking the jewel-colored lake. For favors, we custom built wood boxes with personalized wine glasses for each girl. We also included leather details, such as a personalized wine tasting note book, an engraved wood pen, personalized coaster and heart-shaped key chains.

Bright florals add a pop

For flowers we really wanted to go for something that would pop against the color of the lake, so we decided to choose flowers that were colorful and & fun. This seemed to be the perfect fit to jump into spring! For the dinner table, I used the venue’s beautiful wood slab table and eclectic chairs, which was perfect for our boho theme. I kept the table neutral with wood and lace details, so that the brightly colored flower centerpieces remained the showpiece for the table.

Wood and leather desert table

For the sweet table, we used natural woods, and leather detailing to highlight the “naked cake”, cupcakes, and boho themed cookies from Cake Rhapsody. I used mason jars with personalized leather wraps for the granola favors.

Braided bridal looks

From Mountain Beauties: I drew inspiration from the atmosphere. For the daytime look, I wanted to do styles that were polished versions of what they would do themselves. For the evening looks I had a better chance to get to know everyone and gave them looks that matched their personal style. Braiding is all the rage right now and I wanted to use this in every look. It’s nice to show that there are so many beautiful options with a technique so simple.
